According to Nguyen Ngoc Duong (Founder & CEO of UC Talent), this is the solution to his own job search problem after returning to his hometown of Da Nang from Ho Chi Minh City.

As a web-based platform leveraging the power of AI and Blockchain technology, UC Talent is a start-up founded with the desire to build a recruitment "marketplace" in the technology sector.

"In 2022, a friend introduced me to a blockchain startup, giving me access to this technology of the future."

Soon after, the idea for UC Talent was conceived. By 2023, I started forming the project team and building the platform,” Duong said.

This is a platform connecting technology professionals with businesses that need to hire. Anyone who joins the platform can become a headhunter and earn money from it.

Founder Nguyen Ngoc Duong presents his project in the final round of the competition.

"Compared to traditional methods, recruitment through this platform will help reduce intermediaries, lower costs for recruiting businesses, and increase the speed and efficiency of recruitment technology thanks to AI and Blockchain technology," Mr. Duong shared.

This year, the projects are applying a diverse range of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Web3, blockchain technology, augmented reality (AR), and 360-degree virtual reality (vR360)...

Currently, the platform has approximately 800 personnel profiles, with 600 job applications submitted and processed on the system, and 3 companies are using the platform. For a start-up that was only established in June 2024, these are impressive numbers.

"Winning the top prize in the SURF Startup Competition would be a huge boost for UC Talent to move faster and go further."

Besides that, by participating in SURF 2024, we also have the opportunity to connect with students from the University of Technology - Da Nang University, who are potential future personnel,” Mr. Duong said, expressing his expectations.

Great opportunities for student startups.

This year, many student startup projects also excelled and competed in the final round of the SURF 2024 Innovation Startup Competition. Among them, some projects won awards and received high praise from the judging panel.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, over the years, the SURF Innovation Startup Competition has discovered and nurtured many startups such as: Wetex (winner of the Management Performance Award nationwide), Beekids (top 10 in the TechFest 2023 Startup Competition Finals), FiveSS (successfully raised capital on Shark Tank Season 7)...

“This year, the finalist projects are all high-quality, belonging to leading technology fields, which is a positive sign for Da Nang’s startup ecosystem. Even more remarkably, the competition also attracted many high-quality projects from high school and university students, demonstrating the strong spread of the entrepreneurial spirit,” Ms. Thuc said.
