Many categories of advanced biological drugs will be transferred for production in Vietnam.

Previously, in May 2025 in Moscow, under the witness of Russian President Putin and General Secretary To Lam, VNVC signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) - the highest representative of Russian pharmaceutical research and production agencies as well as other health agencies. After only 5 months, VNVC reached a comprehensive technology transfer agreement with Medsintez - a major Russian pharmaceutical company.

Immediately after signing, Medsintez and VNVC will carry out steps to transfer Medsintez's advanced biological drug production technology at VNVC Vaccine and Biological Factory, cooperate in research and development and clinical research of new drugs and vaccines, and distribute Medsintez's high-quality pharmaceutical products in Vietnam and ASEAN countries.

It is expected that in the near future, many advanced biological drug categories of Medsintez will be transferred for production at VNVC Vaccine and Biological Factory, with high international standards, such as Recombinant Albumin, Recombinant Insulin, disposable and reusable Insulin pens, diabetes treatment drugs (liraglutide, semaglutide), anticoagulant Heparin (prevention and treatment of thrombotic complications causing blood vessel blockage leading to stroke, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism), antiviral drug Triazavirin, follicle stimulating hormone (used in infertility treatment)...

In particular, the two sides will discuss the coordination of clinical research on the antiviral drug Triazavirin in the treatment of dengue fever, a disease that causes hundreds of thousands of cases and dozens of deaths each year in Vietnam.

Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of VNVC Vaccine and Biological Factory, said that cooperation with Medsintez is one of many in-depth cooperation agreements that VNVC and its ecosystem members, the Research Institute and Tam Anh General Hospital System, have signed with research institutes, hospitals and major Russian pharmaceutical companies.

"These cooperations are in line with our goal of expanding our extensive international cooperation with major medical centers around the world to gain early access to new drugs, vaccines, and medical examination and treatment technologies, serving Vietnamese people and international tourists seeking medical treatment in Vietnam," Mr. Ngo Chi Dung emphasized.

The signing of the agreement between VNVC and Medsintez is not only an important step forward for VNVC in the process of international cooperation and integration, but also affirms the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises to receive and master the world's leading advanced technologies. This cooperation gradually shortens the roadmap for mastering technology, reduces import costs, and aims to be self-sufficient in domestic supply and move towards export, thereby affirming its position as a prestigious center for the production and supply of vaccines and biological products in the ASEAN region.

It is expected that by the end of 2027, the VNVC Vaccine and Biological Factory will begin producing new generation vaccines and advanced biological drugs from many countries around the world right in Vietnam.
