According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2023, the state management of food safety in the agricultural sector has been assigned and decentralized from the province to communes, wards and towns. The team of officials and civil servants managing the quality of agricultural materials and food safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products basically meets professional requirements, gradually improving the effectiveness of state management.

Propaganda activities taking place in many fields have helped producers, traders and consumers realize the importance of using safe food and understand the harmful effects of unsafe food. Training to disseminate laws; inspections and checks of establishments producing and trading agricultural materials, food safety, and aquaculture have been organized and implemented to ensure compliance with the plan...

However, there are still many limitations in agricultural materials and food safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products. The agricultural production system is small and fragmented, with a small number of specialized areas, making management difficult. Production, preliminary processing and processing facilities for agricultural, forestry and fishery products are mainly small-scale, household-based, and frequently stop or change production locations, making management difficult.

There is still a large number of people who are not deeply aware of food safety, such as using animal products of unknown origin, without slaughter control marks/veterinary hygiene stamps, so consuming products according to the food safety chain still faces many difficulties.

Continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote and mobilize the production and trading of quality and safe agricultural products and food for public health and sustainable development. Focus on inspecting and examining the quality of agricultural materials and food safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products...
