This is the view of education expert To Thuy Diem Quyen – Founder and CEO of InnEdu, and one of the 20 most inspiring women of 2021 as selected by Forbes Vietnam .

In the context of modern society, what are your thoughts on the role of Vietnamese women in promoting creativity and innovation in fields such as business, art, and technology?

In Vietnam, women have many advantages compared to some countries in the region and around the world . From my observation, there is no overt gender discrimination, which is the first important advantage.

Furthermore, women are inherently gifted with imagination and creativity, multi-dimensional thinking, and flexible problem-solving skills. Today, they are more confident, achieve breakthroughs in their careers, and receive support from their families. As a result, they boldly step out into society and contribute to innovation.

The presence of women in innovation is becoming increasingly evident, especially in the era of Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence, opening up many opportunities for self-affirmation. Their role in this process is becoming increasingly important.

Modern women are no longer confined to the kitchen or limited to the family. They proactively choose suitable careers, balance their professional lives, and are confident and successful in all areas of their lives.

One of the most noteworthy changes is financial independence and a proactive spirit. Today's women know how to manage their time, organize their lives intelligently, and fulfill both roles. In particular, they know how to free themselves from unnecessary constraints, leverage technology to improve their quality of life, and advance their careers.

According to her, what are the biggest challenges Vietnamese women face when wanting to enter traditional professions or new fields?

The biggest challenge for women is not external barriers, but self-belief. People often set limits for themselves. When women have confidence and are inspired, they will boldly step out of their comfort zone, venture out, and assert themselves.

Families also play a crucial role in encouraging daughters to pursue new fields, especially information technology. Gone are the days when information technology was solely associated with pure programming – a job that AI can replace. Today, this field values creativity, problem-solving, and solution-finding – skills that women can excel at.

Today, women have more opportunities to access high-quality education and develop new skills, creating a strong position in society. Women possess multifaceted and comprehensive thinking abilities, leading to their increasing participation in decision-making, leadership, and entrepreneurial roles. The key is for women to proactively seize opportunities and take risks to achieve success.

So, how do you overcome the obstacles and challenges in life and work, according to you?

From a young age, girls should be encouraged to participate in programs and activities that foster innovation and creativity. Parents are the first to create the "stepping stone" to help their daughters become more confident in themselves.

Teachers also play a crucial role in building confidence and creating opportunities for students to participate in all activities, especially in the field of information technology. This is the first and very important foundation. What factors influence women's confidence and success in work and life from your perspective?

The first factor that allows women to be confident and successful is that they are educated to believe that there is no failure, only failure. All their efforts may not have achieved what they wanted, but that doesn't mean they have failed. Just like the world-renowned inventor Thomas Edison, who failed more than 10,000 times to invent the light bulb, but he never called it failure; he saw it as opportunities to learn. "I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work."

He once said, "Many failures in life are due to people not realizing how close they are to success and giving up on their work." After thousands of failures, one day Edison accidentally touched a small button on his coat and exclaimed, "There it is! This is what I'll use for the filament!"

Therefore, the most important thing is to help women – from a young age – understand that failure is not a destination, but a part of the journey to success. If they are not afraid of failure, they have already begun walking on their own path.

Parents also need to change their mindset and stop "programming" outdated notions into their daughters' minds, such as: "Study less, just get married and take care of the family later." If adults keep instilling these prejudices, they will inadvertently rob their children of their confidence, opportunities, and dreams. Instead of setting limits, create conditions for daughters to try new things, explore , and pursue their own passions.

As someone working in the field of innovation, what advice would you give to young women seeking balance and happiness in modern life?

There is no one-size-fits-all formula for every woman. Happiness is not a destination, but a journey of continuous self-improvement, discovery, and self-perfection.

A woman's tact, dedication, and self-sacrifice are always the foundation of a happy family. Taking the initiative to show love is how confident modern women often act...

In this new era, women in our country truly have many opportunities to develop themselves. To confidently shine and make the most of these opportunities, I believe that women should cultivate their knowledge and professional skills, especially those essential in the digital age such as information technology, programming, project management, and soft skills; while also being aware of global trends and cultures to successfully compete in the international environment.

Importantly, women need to maintain a lifelong learning attitude, constantly updating their knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the labor market. Women – strive to rise, strive to lead, strive to shine...
