Open Dream Book Festival and 'Book Summary' Contest for Ben Tre Students

The Dream Ask Open Book Festival was held at Ben Tre High School for the Gifted (Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province) on July 16, attracting more than 1,000 participants.

The Mo Hoi Mo Book Fair is an event in a series of book fairs held at a number of schools in Ben Tre City with the aim of creating a cultural and educational playground, an opportunity for young people to practice reading habits, arouse emotions, love for books and create conditions for students to buy books at reasonable prices.

The Dream Ask Open Book Fair with the message "From Dreamy to Open", is organized by two projects I dare to change (a series of awareness - knowledge - skills education programs for students in Ben Tre province) and Milibri (for those who love to read and love books) in collaboration with the Ben Tre High School for the Gifted.

The Mo Hoi Mo Book Festival includes activities such as: Open Book Street (selling 4,000 books in 4 areas: "Hoi do a oi" - literary books; "Garden corner" - healing books, books about nature and comics; "Mo Hoi Mo adventure" - academic and skill books; books from publishers and books at the same price).

Reading room: experience on-site reading space, along with 2 activities of book exchange and writing love letters to yourself.

Human Library: experience a 1:1 chat space with the participation of 7 guests who are former students of Ben Tre High School for the Gifted.

Each conversation lasts an average of 45 minutes, revolving around 5 topics: communication skills, teamwork skills, self-love, learning and practicing good habits.

Students get to talk directly with vivid "talking" books, each person talking is a mirror not only for the others to follow, but also for them to look at and understand themselves better.

Students experience on-site reading space

The "Fairy Tale World " game area is a play space experience inspired by fairy tales such as Tam Cam, The Smart Boy, The Hundred-Joint Bamboo Tree . There is also a folk game area associated with childhood memories and activities of painting pots and planting trees.

The career counseling booth, implemented by Biz Educo Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company, includes a career counseling space with the participation of 8 consultants from Biz Educo. The program takes place in 2 forms: individual counseling (20 minutes) and in-depth individual counseling (60 minutes). There are a total of 14 counseling sessions with a total time of 660 minutes.

The stage "Step out of the book page" with the main theme "Love song in Vietnamese" closing the book festival brought a performance of words inspired by the passionate verses of poetess Ho Xuan Huong, the excerpt Happiness of a funeral and the short story Distant Stars . The performance attracted more than 500 spectators.

Rules of the "Book Summary" contest

The "Book Summary" contest was launched after the festival with the following rules:

Time from July 21 - August 30, 2023: Receive exam papers from July 21 - August 18. Official results will be announced on August 26. Award ceremony will be held at Ben Tre City Youth Union Hall on August 30.

Content: Summarize the content and comment on the book through 2 forms: article and pictures.

How to participate: Write a book summary or draw a picture or design a book summary photo, expressing the value, lessons of the book and the reader's feelings. Each person can submit a maximum of 1 entry for 1 board.

Platform: Online on Fanpage Milibri. Contestants submit entries via the Organizing Committee's email address: hoisachbentre@gmail.com.

Contestants are junior high and high school students in Ben Tre city.
