Nghe An effectively promotes the program of lending fertilizer to farmers with deferred payment

After 5 years of implementation (2020 - 2025), the cooperation program between Nghe An Farmers' Association and Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporation has brought practical results, helping tens of thousands of farming households have the conditions to invest in production, improve productivity and income.

On the morning of October 25, Nghe An Farmers' Association and Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporation held a conference to summarize the program of lending fertilizer to farmers with deferred payment for 2020-2025 and deploy tasks for the period 2025-2030.

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Hero of Labor Truong Van Hien - General Director of Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporation.

Over the past 5 years, Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporation has provided farmers with more than 66,500 tons of fertilizer, with a total value of over 480 billion VND. The program is organized regularly according to the season, helping farmers proactively source materials, ensuring the planting season, especially in times of financial difficulty.

Along with supporting capital and materials, Nghe An Agricultural Materials Corporation and the Provincial Farmers' Association also coordinated to organize technical training and promote the use of scientific fertilizers, helping to change awareness and improve investment efficiency. If in the past, farmers were still hesitant with high-content NPK fertilizers, now thanks to guidance and technical advice, many people have boldly switched to using better quality fertilizers, more economically and effectively.

The program also creates a foundation for the formation of large-scale field models, linking production and consumption of agricultural products, contributing to increased productivity and stable output. Thanks to timely fertilizer sources, many rice, corn, peanut, sugarcane production areas have maintained good crop schedules, increased productivity, and farmers' incomes have significantly improved.

Entering a new phase, the cooperation program between the Provincial Farmers' Association and Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporation will continue to be implemented in the context of a two-level local government management model. To adapt to the new situation, the two sides agreed to innovate organizational methods, clearly decentralize responsibilities and promote the application of digital technology in management and operation.

According to the plan, in the period of 2025 - 2030, the program strives to supply farmers with 80,000 - 90,000 tons of various fertilizers, with a total estimated value of 700 - 750 billion VND, ensuring a debt collection rate of 100%. The Provincial Farmers' Association will assign targets directly to communes and wards; and the Agricultural Materials Corporation will allocate plans to each regional branch. Coordination, signing, monitoring and debt collection are carried out transparently and smoothly using online management software.

In addition, the enterprise will restructure its distribution network, expand its agricultural material supply points to communes, shorten transportation distances, reduce intermediary costs, and ensure timely delivery. Farmers' Associations at all levels will promote propaganda, technical training, and improve the capacity of grassroots cadres and members on the economical, effective, and safe use of fertilizers.

Not only does it bring economic efficiency, the program also has profound social value. Through the form of credit, the Farmers' Association affirms its role as a representative, protecting the rights and accompanying members in production development.
