Kieu Le Tam - The miracle of a martial arts artist
On the evening of October 21, at the program "One Heart" organized by Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung (brand name "Dung Seafood") to raise funds to help artist Buu Khanh - who is being treated in Hue for heart disease, the audience was moved to see artist Kieu Le Tam reappearing on stage after more than two decades of absence.
She is 78 years old this year and was once a famous martial arts performer, associated with Saigon 3, Hoa Anh Dao - Kim Chuong, An Giang, Kien Giang , Hau Giang, Ben Tre... troupes before emigrating to the United States 25 years ago.
Throughout her career, she has left her mark with many unique roles, especially the role of Nhac Mau in the play "Lenh Ho Xung", co-starring with artists Duc Loi, Anh Hong, Thanh Kim Le, Truong Xuan, Lam Son... "She plays the second-class roles, but the female actors who play the main roles, if not careful, will be "overshadowed" by her. Because, she acts very confidently, sings very well and has a sweet voice, and acts extremely intelligently" - journalist Tran Dai Phu said.
Artist Kieu Le Tam recently suffered an injury from a fall that resulted in a broken arm. After several months of treatment, she is now in less pain and has returned to visit her hometown. "I miss it so much, I miss the stage, the lights, and the audience," she said, weeping.
Kieu Le Tam - The moment that made the audience fall silent
When the opening music of the traditional song "Mother's Daughter" (composer Loan Thao) sounded, the old artist stepped out in a simple ao dai, her hands trembling but her eyes shining with joy. Together with artist Bich Hanh, she sang with a warm, soulful voice as if she had never left the stage.

Afterward, she performed "Green Betel Leaf" by composer and People's Artist Viễn Châu, leaving a sweet and lingering impression on the audience. The audience applauded enthusiastically, and many couldn't hold back their tears upon seeing an artist in her twilight years still singing wholeheartedly for her colleagues.
They rushed forward to give her flowers and money, but she gave all of it to artist Buu Khanh, and even contributed more from her own pocket to help him with his treatment costs. "I heard that Buu Khanh was seriously ill, and I felt very sorry for him. Due to my health, I couldn't go to Hue to visit him, so I sent a small token of my appreciation. Thank you to the audience for showing love and support to us artists, especially in our twilight years when we are sick and facing difficulties," said artist Kieu Le Tam.
Kieu Le Tam: "Tonight is my miracle"
Speaking emotionally, artist Kieu Le Tam said: "For over 20 years, I haven't been able to stand on stage, and I thought my voice had faded away. But tonight is a miracle, because I get to sing amidst the love of my colleagues and the audience. I'm not wealthy, I just hope to contribute a little kindness to help Buu Khanh overcome this critical situation. That is the greatest joy of my life."

After she finished speaking, the audience rose to their feet and applauded continuously. The atmosphere in the Along Thai auditorium was filled with emotion and gratitude.
People's Artist Minh Vương shared: "I am moved to see Kiều Lệ Tâm return. She is a dedicated and compassionate artist who has endured many hardships for the cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) stage. Meeting her again on stage today is a joy for the entire artistic community."
Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long, the program organizer, said: "When I heard that Ms. Kieu Le Tam had returned from the US, I invited her to come and watch for fun. I didn't expect her to let me go on stage to sing, and she sang with all her love. It was that energy and heart that gave strength to this performance."

Artist Bich Hanh, who sang duets with her, emotionally said: "When I sang with Kieu Le Tam, I wanted to cry. She sang so sweetly, every word seemed to pour all her youthful stage spirit into it. She is a role model for us to follow."
Echoes of a heart
The program "One Heart" ended with more than 30 million VND in donations from the audience and benefactors. But the greatest value is the love of the artists, the belief that the reformed theater is still the home that connects generations.
The return of artist Kieu Le Tam is not only an artistic moment, but also a symbol of compassion and faith in the humanistic values of stage artists.
She will return to the US on November 2, but she has an appointment with fellow artists at a meeting to visit and chat about life and career during her 40-year journey with the stage.
