Gold ring prices continue to reach all-time highs, yet many customers are still deciding to buy. Many said they arrived at 7 a.m., queuing for several hours, but even after 9 a.m., they still didn't know if they would be able to buy any gold.
Ms. Thu Phuong, from Dong Anh commune, Hanoi , said that she left home at 6 a.m. and waited for more than two hours at the Bao Tin Minh Chau store in Cau Giay, but still didn't know if she would be able to buy gold.
In recent days, despite the soaring price of gold, many people have still decided to buy and hoard it.
Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau only sells a limited amount of 1 tael per person, and they announce that they are sold out within half an hour of opening for business.
Not only gold, but silver is also out of stock.
Other gold shops, like Doij's in Cau Giay, are experiencing a lack of customers because they've run out of gold rings and aren't selling gold bars.
Not only gold but also silver is in short supply as prices soar, approaching 43 million VND/kg, the highest level in history. A representative from Phu Quy said that customers buying gold and silver must place orders in advance.
Many people had been lining up in front of the gold shop since morning.
