Nghia Do Ward has an area of 4.34km2, a population of 125,568 people, with 87 residential groups. Due to rapid urbanization, unsynchronized facilities and infrastructure, according to a survey by Nghia Do Ward, some areas in the ward are susceptible to localized flooding when there is heavy rain, such as: Phung Chi Kien Street, Hoang Quoc Viet Street, the gate area of the University of Electricity...

In addition, in the ward there is also a green tree system including many large diameter trees, power lines, telecommunications lines in alleys and streets that have not been cleared and buried underground, so when there are storms and tornadoes, there will be a great risk of affecting the safety of people's lives and property; some old apartment buildings and long-standing collective housing areas have degraded and are dangerous.
