Accordingly, the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units between Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province has led to changes in the socio-economic development orientation of Da Nang City, as well as the development orientation of key areas between Da Nang and Chu Lai airports. In addition, there are some difficulties in adjusting the land use plan for national defense purposes and the impact of the operational airspace of Da Nang International Airport.

The Ministry of Construction and the People's Committee of Da Nang City have agreed on the need to select a capable and experienced foreign consulting firm to further refine the planning scheme for Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport. This aims to improve the quality and efficiency of operations, as well as ensure long-term development and optimize land use for the airports. Simultaneously, the existing airport operators will be responsible for implementing this task.

Relevant departments and units also discussed the roles and functions, and proposed planning and development options for Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport to ensure they are suitable for the socio -economic development of Da Nang city after the merger.
