Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, commended the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and related agencies and units for their excellent command, direction, and management of the two units during the performance of their duties.
"The achievements of the 2nd Engineering Battalion and the 5th Level 2 Field Hospital during their term have contributed to enhancing the traditions of Uncle Ho's Army and the image of the green beret soldier to the people of the country and international friends," General Phung Si Tan emphasized.

Reporting at the ceremony, Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, stated that in addition to many advantages, the 2nd Engineering Team and the 5th Level 2 Field Hospital also faced many difficulties in carrying out their mission, such as the frequently unstable political situation in the area, harsh weather conditions, and many complex diseases threatening the officers and staff of the units.
In particular, the barracks of the 2nd Engineering Team are currently located separately from the Mission Headquarters, and in the initial stages of construction and reinforcement, security is not yet guaranteed.
However, overcoming many difficulties, the units of Engineering Team No. 2 and Field Hospital Level 2 No. 5 successfully completed many tasks in terms of professional expertise, as well as ensuring security and safety, research, consultation, propaganda, civilian affairs, and ensuring good logistical, technical, and living conditions for officers and staff.
