Vietnamese people have chosen health screening at Nura: Proactive health care is the trend of the future

In the context of the number of cancer cases in Vietnam increasing continuously over the years but the early detection rate is still limited, people have begun to look for new screening models - faster, more accurate and less invasive.

After just over a year of operation, nearly 20,000 Vietnamese people have chosen Nura – High-Tech General Clinic – as a proactive solution to protect their health early.

Cancer cases continue to increase in Vietnam

According to GLOBOCAN 2022 statistics of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Vietnam recorded more than 182,500 new cancer cases and more than 122,000 deaths in the year. The burden of cancer has continued to increase in recent years, not only in the number of cases but also in the trend of younger patients, putting great pressure on the health system and family economy .

However, the rate of early cancer detection in Vietnam is still not high, only about 20-25% depending on the type of disease, according to data from the Central Cancer Hospital.

Meanwhile, according to studies by the American Cancer Society (ACS), detecting cancer at stage I can increase the success rate of treatment to 90–95%, while significantly reducing costs and the risk of metastasis.

This shows that proactive screening is not only necessary but also the way to change the situation.

The number of cancer cases continues to increase and becomes one of the major challenges of the health sector.

More than 14,000 cases have been "protected" thanks to early detection at Nura

Although it has only appeared in Vietnam since 2024, Nura Hanoi has quickly made a strong mark in the field of preventive medicine, becoming a pioneer model in applying artificial intelligence to proactive health screening. After just over 1 year of operation (reported October 2025), Nura has received nearly 20,000 visitors - an impressive number for a new brand in the medical industry.

This rapid growth shows that Vietnamese people are prioritizing comprehensive, accurate and convenient screening solutions, especially for dangerous but silent diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease or COPD.

Of the nearly 20,000 visitors, Nura recorded more than 14,000 cases of abnormalities at level C and D – two warning levels according to Japanese health classification standards (indicating the need for early monitoring or treatment). Abnormalities were recorded in many important disease groups such as lung, hematology, breast, cervix, liver – pancreas – kidney – abdomen, kidney stones – gallstones and especially coronary artery calcification. Nearly 100 cases of cancer or pre-cancer were detected, most of them at a very early stage – a time when intervention is highly effective and treatment costs are low.

The case of Ms. Phong Thu (Hanoi) is one of the typical examples. The screening results at Nura detected 2 spinal cord tumors in the spine, existing for more than 10 years and at risk of causing muscle atrophy and paralysis of the lower body. It is worth mentioning that before that, she was completely healthy, with no signs of abnormalities. Thanks to early detection, Ms. Thu received timely intervention and avoided the risk of complications. "If I had been a little slower, I probably would not have had the chance to stand on my own two feet..." - she shared after the successful surgery.

Applying AI and Fujifilm technology: Advantages in early detection of abnormalities

As one of 16 global facilities in 12 countries, Nura Vietnam is the exclusive owner of medical AI software from Fujifilm, built and operated on a huge medical platform and inherited a database over decades. This technology helps reduce X-ray dose in CT Scan imaging diagnostic techniques but still accurately detects every abnormal sign from just a few mm. In particular, in Vietnam, Nura has also optimized additional examination items such as ENT endoscopy, thyroid ultrasound... to suit the physical condition, lifestyle and typical diseases of Vietnamese people.

AI technology combined with a team of highly specialized doctors helps shorten examination time while increasing reliability in detecting early abnormalities - the most important factor in cancer screening.

Continuing the mission for a healthier Vietnam – Nura expands in Ho Chi Minh City

Following the achievements in Hanoi, Nura officially put into operation a new facility in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2025. This expansion aims to meet the increasing screening needs of people in the South, while also achieving the long-term goal: "Helping millions of Vietnamese people become healthier and happier by accurately screening for disease risks" - according to Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuan, Chairman and Founder of Nura Vietnam.

With the advantage of AI technology, a fast comprehensive screening process and a highly specialized team, Nura aims to continue to improve the rate of early disease detection, contributing to reducing the national disease burden and improving the quality of life for the community.

It can be seen that the Vietnamese people's healthcare mindset is changing significantly: from the mentality of "waiting until you are sick to see a doctor" to proactive screening for early prevention. This shift partly reflects the growing trust of people in screening models that apply high technology, are faster and more accurate.

In the context of global healthcare transforming rapidly thanks to artificial intelligence, proactive screening using AI is expected to become one of the important pillars of preventive medicine in Vietnam in the coming years. With initial results proven by actual data, Nura shows that this is not just a temporary trend, but a sustainable direction - contributing to building a healthier, safer and happier future for Vietnamese people.

NURA Vietnam is the result of strategic cooperation between Fujifilm - a global medical technology corporation, and T-Matsuoka Japanese Medical Center - a pioneer in the field of screening and early detection of tumors and stroke according to Japanese standards.
