Many students from private schools participated in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination.

The national excellent student selection exam for the 2025-2026 school year will take place at the end of December 2025. Hanoi has 247 students participating, many of whom come from private schools.

On December 11th, at the Temple of Literature - National University, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a meeting with the city's team of outstanding students participating in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination for the 2025-2026 school year.

For this competition, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training selected and formed teams in 13 subjects, comprising 247 students, including 140 12th-grade students, 104 11th-grade students, and 3 10th-grade students, aiming to ensure continuity, development, and long-term depth in education.

The team members come from eight high schools across the city. Specialized high schools continue to play a core role, accounting for over 95% of the total number of participating students.

In addition, the increasing participation of some private schools shows that the movement to nurture gifted students is gradually spreading evenly throughout the entire secondary education system of the capital city.

Private schools in Hanoi with students participating in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination for the 2025-2026 school year include: Newton Secondary and High School (3 students); Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (1 student); Hoang Long High School (1 student).

Congratulating the outstanding students selected for the city team to participate in the national-level competition, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Tran The Cuong said that for many years, Hanoi has consistently led the country in the number and quality of awards in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination, especially in increasing the number of First Prizes, affirming its leading position in the quality of advanced education nationwide.

The results achieved by Hanoi students in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination have created motivation and contributed to strongly promoting the emulation movement of good teaching and good learning, spreading widely to all levels and branches of education, while affirming the position and role of the Hanoi Education sector.

According to Mr. Tran The Cuong, among the 247 students in this year's city team, many come from schools with rich traditions and achievements in selecting and training outstanding students for the national competition. This year, Hanoi also has the participation of students from public and private high schools; although the entrance exam scores were not high, there are still excellent students participating in the team, which is something to be very proud of.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Tran The Cuong expressed his hope that the students would continue to cultivate their knowledge and skills, constantly strive to excel in their studies, maintain good health, and be highly determined to achieve the best results in the exam. He also urged teachers and parents to create the most favorable conditions to ensure students have good health and a positive mindset for the upcoming national exam.

Proud and happy to represent Hanoi students in the competition with students nationwide, Nguyen The Minh, a student from class 12 Chemistry 1, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, and a member of the Chemistry team, expressed his gratitude and promised to dedicate all his abilities, intelligence, and spirit to achieving the best possible results in this year's competition.

Pham Quoc Toan, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, delivered his remarks.

On behalf of the Hanoi Education Department, Deputy Director Pham Quoc Toan expressed gratitude to the leaders of Hanoi city, schools, and teachers for their continuous attention and support in preparing the team for the competition. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training will accompany and create all conditions for students to participate in the competition with the best health, intellect, and spirit.

Students and teachers who won medals at national and international competitions in the 2024-2025 school year were awarded prizes at the meeting.

At the meeting, city leaders and the Hanoi Education Department commended and awarded prizes to students and teachers who won medals at national and international competitions in the 2024-2025 school year. The total prize money amounted to over 22 billion VND.

According to the plan, the national excellent student selection exam for the 2025-2026 school year, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, will take place on December 25th and 26th, 2025, with more than 6,700 students participating.
