After being warned many times about being behind schedule, the construction site at An Phu intersection is now bustling again as the overpass and underpass projects are simultaneously accelerating and gradually taking shape.

According to VTC News, in early December, the construction site of An Phu intersection (HCMC) entered a phase of acceleration. At many construction sites, new concrete was poured, steel beams were extended meter by meter, clearly showing the shape of an important intersection gradually taking shape.

According to records, the N2 bridge branch of the XL11 package has been structurally closed, forming a complete connecting axis from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway approach road towards Mai Chi Tho Avenue, creating conditions for the contractor to continue implementing the finishing items.

This item has reached more than 60% of the volume, and is being constructed simultaneously at three points. The contractor expects to complete and put the N2 bridge branch into technical traffic before December 31, 2025.

Along Mai Chi Tho axis, the construction site of the HC1-02 underpass (package XL6) has been expanded, the basic rough construction has been completed. The tunnel compartments have clearly revealed their structures, while the construction teams are moving to the stage of completing the technical items.

The tunnel is 760m long, has four two-way lanes and is more than 75% completed. According to the plan, the HC1-02 underpass will be completed and put into operation before January 15, 2026.

At the Dong Van Cong road connection area, the bridge piers of branches N3 and N4 are being completed in sections, creating the premise for installing beams in the coming time.

On Mai Chi Tho axis, two bridges N1.1 and N1.3 turning left onto the highway are also under construction at the same time, contributing to more clearly defining the overall structure of the entire project.

These items are expected to be completed before June 30, 2026, expected to reduce traffic pressure on the entrance and exit routes of Cat Lai port and the Eastern urban area, while increasing connectivity for the entire area.

An Phu traffic intersection is a large-scale project with a total investment of about 3,400 billion VND, starting construction in 2022.

The project includes a system of overpasses, underpasses and branches, directly connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with Mai Chi Tho and Dong Van Cong axes.

The An Phu Interchange Project, located at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, directly connects the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway and Long Thanh Airport. The completion and operation of the project is considered urgent to improve traffic and reduce congestion in this key area.
