(CLO) A bomb exploded in the lobby of the upscale Alye Parusa apartment building in Moscow on February 3, killing at least one person and injuring four others.
According to Russian media, the bomb exploded just as a man with bodyguards entered the lobby of the Alye Parusa apartment building on the banks of the Moscow River, only 12 kilometers from the Kremlin.
The Russian news agency TASS, citing law enforcement sources, reported that the explosion was aimed at assassinating Armen Sarkisyan, whom Ukraine accuses of supporting Russia's special military operation in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.
Sarkisyan is a pro-Russian paramilitary leader in eastern Ukraine. Sarkisyan is in critical condition and will have part of his leg amputated.

A law enforcement official said the assassination was carefully planned and investigators are searching for those behind the attack.
Baza, a Telegram channel linked to Russian security agencies, published a video showing extensive damage in the building's lobby and confirmed that Sarkisyan was seriously injured.
Also in December, Ukraine claimed responsibility for the assassination of Russian General Igor Kirillov in another bombing in Moscow. There has been no official response from Ukraine regarding the February 3 explosion.
