Hot: Ministry of Education and Training proposes to stop planning and appointing school board chairman and principal

TPO - From September 12, the chairman and vice chairman of the school board whose term has expired will continue to operate until new instructions are issued, and at the same time, planning and appointing new principals will be temporarily suspended.

This move took place after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW (dated August 22) on innovation and development of education and training.

One of the important points of the Resolution is: “No school councils will be organized in public educational institutions (except for public schools with international agreements)”. This policy aims to streamline the apparatus, avoid overlap, and ensure stability in educational management.

Implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW, the Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Official Dispatches 5505 and 5506 (signed on September 11).

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that from September 12, universities and vocational training institutions under the Ministry with the School Council, Chairman, Vice Chairman of the School Council (if any) whose term has expired continue to operate until new instructions are issued. In case the Chairman is no longer of age to manage, the Vice Chairman will act as interim manager; if not, the School Council will elect a temporary manager.

Temporarily suspend planning for the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the School Board

Temporarily suspend the planning and appointment of new positions of Director, Deputy Director, Principal, and Vice Principal until new instructions are issued. However, reappointment for cases whose terms have expired will continue to be implemented.
