Coach Vu Hong Viet will move to the role of Technical Director of Nam Dinh Club, and the head coach position will be given to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, who was a player and later a coach in the youth training system of the Southern team.

This season, Nam Dinh is gradually losing form, continuously losing to opponents who are considered to be of equal strength. The results are not as expected, forcing the team's leadership to take action to rectify the situation, rekindling the fighting spirit that once made the Nam Dinh team's brand.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien was born in 1979, grew up from the Nam Dinh training center, playing in the midfielder position. He used to play for Nam Dinh, Saigon Port and was called up to the Vietnam national team. Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien has been the Technical Director of the Nam Dinh Green Steel Club since 2023. He worked with coach Vu Hong Viet to win two V-League championships and a National Super Cup in the past three seasons.

Nam Dinh FC said: “After two consecutive V-League championship seasons, Nam Dinh Blue Steel had a bad start in the 2025-2026 season when it only had 7 points after 7 rounds. In the two international arenas AFC Champions League Two and Shopee Cup, the team won three and lost one after 4 matches.

In football, every club has its difficult times and Nam Dinh Green Steel is no exception. However, the fiery spirit, the desire to win, together with solidarity and unity, will definitely bring the team back on track. New head coach Nguyen Trung Kien will start his duties right at the afternoon training session on October 24 of Nam Dinh Club, preparing for the match against visiting team Da Nang in round 8.
