This is considered a large market with a lot of potential, but also has strict requirements on quality, traceability and management of raw material areas.
Advantages from land and raw material areas
Gia Lai province has more than 977 thousand hectares of agricultural land. Of which, over 753 thousand hectares of fertile red basalt land stretches, creating ideal conditions for growing crops of high economic value.
Coffee, pepper, rubber, bananas, passion fruit, durian, watermelon, coconut and many other fruit trees are not only familiar crops but also become key agricultural export products.

In particular, in recent years, the province has focused on production standardization. The whole province currently has 248 growing area codes for export to China with an area of over 10,000 hectares, along with 40 packaging facilities with a capacity of 1,800 tons/day.
Agricultural products increasingly meet the strict requirements of food safety, traceability and technical standards of the Chinese market. Thanks to that, the province's agricultural products have opened the door to official export instead of depending on risky unofficial routes.
Not only stopping at raw exports, businesses in the province are focusing on deep processing to increase the value and competitiveness of products.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Hang - General Director of Vinanutrifood Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company (Tay Son commune) shared: "To go far, we do not just sell what is available, but must create products that the market needs. Vinanutrifood has deployed a growing area management system that applies artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.
This system allows monitoring of crop status, humidity, pests, and weather using sensors and digital maps. Thanks to this, businesses can not only control quality but also transparently trace the origin, meeting the requirements of international quarantine agencies.
Similarly, Thagrico Cao Nguyen Fruit Tree One Member Co., Ltd. (Chu Prong commune) is applying AI technology to monitor durian growing areas and actively promoting products at fairs and exhibitions.
Recently, the unit signed a cooperation agreement to export durian with a partner in Guangxi (China), opening up opportunities to bring Gia Lai fruit closer to consumers in your country.
Many other enterprises such as Nafoods Tay Nguyen Joint Stock Company (An Phu ward, main product is passion fruit), Gia Lai Livestock Joint Stock Company (Lo Pang commune, banana products), Tin Thanh Dat Joint Stock Company (Thong Nhat ward, coffee products) have also gradually affirmed their reputation with standard products and a methodical promotion strategy. This is a positive signal showing that Gia Lai agricultural products are transforming from small-scale production to a modern, sustainable model.
Accompanying businesses
To support businesses, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the Department of Trade Promotion ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) to implement many effective promotion programs.
Gia Lai enterprises regularly participate in major fairs in China such as the Kunming Fair, the China-ASEAN Fair in Nanning, and the Shanghai International Import Fair. At the same time, the province's agricultural products are also promoted on major e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba, opening up a modern channel to reach customers.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kha - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - said: "We guide businesses to update regulations and standards of the Chinese market; support training on growing area management, traceability; and connect direct trade with importers. In the future, the Department will continue to support the application of digital technology in production management to improve export efficiency."
In addition, the province focuses on improving logistics infrastructure and simplifying administrative procedures to reduce costs for businesses. These are important factors that help Gia Lai agricultural products increase their competitiveness and penetrate sustainably into the Chinese market.

At the Vietnam - China Trade Promotion Conference held in August 2025, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized: "The province always attaches importance to the Chinese market and identifies it as a key market. We encourage businesses to focus on improving quality, deep processing and promoting products in a systematic manner. The province is committed to accompanying and creating favorable conditions for businesses to expand cooperation and affirm the province's agricultural product brand in this market."
The official export route to China not only helps Gia Lai agricultural products increase their value but also contributes to building a prestigious and sustainable brand in the international market.
