“You can be an excellent scholar and an athletics goddess, as long as you believe in yourself and keep trying,” Amy Hunt shared radiantly after receiving the silver medal at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo (Japan) in September.

At the age of 23, Amy became the British sprint star with a time of 22.14 seconds, just behind the champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden of the United States (21.68 seconds). Immediately after completing the race, the British athlete burst into tears when the electronic board displayed the results.
This tear is a confirmation of the historic achievement, when she officially won the first major title in her career, marking an important milestone in her pinnacle sports journey.
In 2019, the Briton burst onto the scene by breaking the 200m world record for under-18s. However, it was also the start of a turbulent few years, both on and off the track.
Amy Hunt faced mental health and emotional turmoil when she first started university, struggling with the hours-long commute between Cambridge (for her studies) and Loughborough (for her training).
The athlete admitted: "I thought about dropping out of school every year. But I couldn't do that. I was born to fight," she affirmed.
In 2022, a serious thigh injury seemed to end Amy's career. Her life changed suddenly, from a sought-after celebrity to a nearly forgotten person. This rapid change pushed her life into an extremely difficult period.
However, she overcame adversity with her iron will. "You cannot know how desperate it was to have my mother carry me out of the bathroom and take care of the smallest things.
My family picked me up when I fell, helped me bandage and relearn each step. Failure was never an option and I had crazy faith that I would come back.” The athlete is especially grateful for the support from her family.

Currently, Amy Hunt lives and trains in Italy with an international coaching team, with the ultimate goal of winning the gold medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. She also regularly appears in fashion campaigns, praised by the British press as "the perfect combination of knowledge and speed."
At 23, Amy revealed that she is trying to become a literary critic. With her passion rekindled after an initial difficult period, experts predict that Amy Hunt will shine even brighter in the coming years, both on the track and in academia.
