On October 16, the 7th Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council (term 2021 - 2026) elected the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the term 2021 - 2026.
As a result, 63/63 votes elected Mr. Lam Dong - Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee - to hold the position of Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council.
The People's Council delegates also elected the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. With 64/64 votes, Mr. Lu Thanh Hai - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Nha Trang Ward - held the position of Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council.
Thus, the leadership of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council includes 1 chairman and 2 vice chairmen, including Mr. Lam Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; the vice chairmen include Mr. and Mrs. Pham Thi Xuan Trang and Lu Thanh Hai.
Mr. Lam Dong was born in 1971, his hometown is Binh Dinh province (now Gia Lai ); he has a master's degree in Party building and State administration.
From October 2015 to October 2020, Mr. Dong was Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office. From November 2020 to December 2020, Mr. Dong was a member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chief of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Office. From December 2020 to June 2025, Mr. Dong was Head of the Organization Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee.
After merging Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces on July 1, 2025, Mr. Dong became Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.
At the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, Mr. Lam Dong was appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
