ANTD.VN - Mr. Pham Manh Thang has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of PG Bank. Mr. Thang was previously known as the Deputy General Director of Vietcombank .
On October 23, 2023, Petrolimex Commercial Joint Stock Bank (PG Bank, Stock Code: PGB) held its 2023 Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.
PG Bank's General Meeting of Shareholders presented four main items for shareholder approval, including the approval of the restructuring and personnel plan for the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board for the 2020-2025 term. The prospective candidates have all been vetted and approved by the State Bank of Vietnam and received a high percentage of unanimous votes from shareholders.
According to the voting results at the General Meeting, the new Board of Directors will consist of 6 members: Mr. Pham Manh Thang, Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai, Ms. Dinh Thi Huyen Thanh, Mr. Dinh Thanh Nghiep, Mr. Vuong Phuc Chinh, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam (Independent Board Member).

The Supervisory Board for the 2020-2025 term consists of 3 members: Mr. Tran Ngoc Dung, Mr. Trinh Manh Hoan, and Ms. Ha Hong Mai.
Also this morning, the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board held their first meeting to elect the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Head of the Supervisory Board. Accordingly, Mr. Pham Manh Thang was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Tran Ngoc Dung was elected Head of the Supervisory Board of PG Bank.
Mr. Pham Manh Thang, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of PG Bank, was born in 1962 and holds a PhD in Economics. He has 39 years of experience in the banking and finance sector and is currently the General Director of PG Bank. Previously, Mr. Thang was known as the Deputy General Director of Vietnam Foreign Trade Commercial Bank (Vietcombank), retiring in early May 2023. He joined PG Bank and was appointed Acting General Director, performing the powers and duties of the General Director of PG Bank in early July 2023, before being appointed General Director from September 15, 2023.
Another notable senior executive is Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai (born in 1975) is known for his close ties to Thanh Cong Group. He is the General Director of PV-Inconess Investment Joint Stock Company, General Director of Viet Hung Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company, and Chief Financial Officer of Viet Hung Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company. All of these entities are linked to Thanh Cong Group.
Previously, when Thanh Cong was present at Eximbank, Mr. Dao Phong Truc Dai was also elected to the Board of Directors for the 2020-2025 term of this bank, but resigned at the end of October 2022.
Besides the personnel structure of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board, the General Meeting also approved other matters regarding the restructuring plan associated with handling bad debts in the 2021-2025 period; approved the plan to increase charter capital to VND 5,000 billion, two years earlier than required by the Prime Minister and the State Bank of Vietnam. In addition, the General Meeting also approved the change of the trade name and relocation of PG Bank's head office to HEAC Building, 14-16 Ham Long Street, Phan Chu Trinh Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
Reportedly, the HEAC building is owned by Ham Long Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Company. This company is legally represented by Ms. Le Hong Anh, born in 1975.
Ms. Le Hong Anh is the wife of Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of Thanh Cong Group. She is also the representative of Thanh Cong Auto Services Co., Ltd.; CDA Co., Ltd.; and TCG Land Co., Ltd. (member companies of Thanh Cong Group).
