On the afternoon of November 3rd, several people walking along the Lang Co embankment in My Khe village, Tam Thanh commune (Phu Quy island district) discovered a body trapped in a rock crevice. The incident was subsequently reported to local authorities.

Many suspect this is the body of Can Hoang M. (19 years old, residing in Lam Dong province), who went missing last week after being swept away by waves while paddleboarding with five others. Fortunately, all five people who were with him have survived.

Mr. M's relatives also arrived at the scene to identify the body. However, because the body was in a state of decomposition, the authorities will conduct professional procedures to determine its exact identity.

As reported by VietNamNet , on the afternoon of October 26th, the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station received a report from the owner of Villa Windy regarding a group of 6 tourists who had come to Phu Quy Island for sightseeing and registered to stay at the property.

At approximately 4:45 PM on the same day, the group took two stand-up paddleboards and one life jacket from in front of the villa and went swimming and paddling about 200 meters from the shore (an area where stand-up paddleboarding is prohibited).

Over an hour later, the group encountered strong winds and a strong current pulling them away from the shore, so they called the villa owner for help. Subsequently, 3 people were rescued by boat and brought safely to shore, while the remaining 3 continued to drift at sea. The rescue boat returned but could not find them.

By 7 PM the same day, tourist Ngo Xuan H. (26 years old, residing in Dien Bien province) had managed to swim to shore on his own.

On October 27th, female tourist Nguyen Ngoc Kim Th. (19 years old, residing in Lam Dong province) was also fortunate to be found after a night adrift at sea thanks to wearing a life jacket.
