Teacher in Tuyen Quang receives disciplinary warning for inappropriate speech

The People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province has just informed about the handling of the case of a group of students from Van Phu Secondary School (Son Duong) insulting a female teacher, causing public outrage at the end of November 2023.

According to the announcement, immediately after the incident, the authorities of Van Phu commune and the school organized a meeting with parents and students of the relevant classes to clarify the violations.

During the working process, the working group found that Ms. PTH - a teacher was cornered by students, insulted, had inappropriate statements towards colleagues and students, and had inappropriate language and behavior.

"In particular, in the incident that occurred on November 29, 2023, Ms. PTH herself made offensive statements and chased after students with shoes and waved her arms. These actions violated teachers' ethics and seriously affected the image of teachers and theeducational environment," the report stated.

From the above violations, the People's Committee of Son Duong district decided to discipline Ms. PTH with a warning.

In addition, the People's Committee of Son Duong district requested the school to remind, support, and help students overcome their shortcomings; At the same time, apply disciplinary measures such as reprimand, notify parents, and suspend school for a week.

Regarding the incident, the working group determined that Mr. Nguyen Duy Sang, the school principal, had not directed and handled the incident within his assigned authority, resulting in students insulting the honor, dignity, and body of the high school teacher.

Mr. Sang also did not promptly report the incident to the authorities, leading to students sharing and posting videos of the incident on social networking sites, causing public outrage.

From the above incident, the People's Committee of Son Duong district decided to discipline and transfer Mr. Sang; At the same time, it required the school leaders to self-examine and draw profound lessons from the collective leadership and management.

Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee also informed that the situation at Van Phu Secondary School is now stable, teaching and learning are taking place normally. In the coming time, Son Duong district will continue to monitor and direct to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

At the end of November 2023, two videos appeared on social media recording images of a group of students cornering a female teacher in the corner of the classroom, threatening and cursing her. Faced with the uneducated behavior of the group of male students, this female teacher did not dare to resist but only used her phone to record.
The incident was determined to have occurred on November 29, 2023 at Van Phu Secondary School (Son Duong - Tuyen Quang) during the Music class in class 7C. During class, some students asked to leave but Ms. H. did not agree. After that, there was a dispute between the teacher and the students during class.
However, after class, some students of class 7C had inappropriate statements and behaviors towards Ms. H. such as swearing, insulting the teacher, recording videos and posting them on Facebook.
Immediately after the incident, the Ministry of Education and Training sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province to direct functional units to work, verify information, and resolve the above incident.
