On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on July 22 and 23, a delegation from the province, led by Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and laid flowers and incense at martyrs' cemeteries in Dien Bien province.

Among them, more than 800 martyrs' graves have been identified as originating from Thanh Hoa province. At the Dien Bien Martyrs' Cemetery (Hill A1), there is the grave of Heroic Martyr To Vinh Dien, an outstanding son of Nong Cong district, now part of Trieu Son district, who bravely used his body to block artillery during the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954.
