Hoi An Ancient Town opens free for visitors on December 4

(CLO) On December 4, the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center announced that today Hoi An ancient town is open for free visits to tourists.

This is one of a series of meaningful activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), 26 years of Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary being recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage (December 4, 1999 - December 4, 2025), and 8 years of Central Vietnam's Bài Chòi Art being recognized by UNESCO as Representative Intangible Heritage of Humanity (December 7, 2017 - December 7, 2025).

This year's activities are diverse, practical and related to community interests.

The opening is a series of propaganda, display and visual promotion activities in the Old Quarter to introduce the outstanding global value of Hoi An Ancient Town.

Many thematic events took place throughout, spreading the research values ​​of documents, architecture, historical memories and ancient urban identity such as: Exhibition of documentary heritage of Hoi An steles; Introduction of the book publication Hoi An Gazetteer - Ecology and Architectural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town; Unique cultural experience activities such as experiencing Japanese culture; visiting the thematic Journey of Experience - Touching Heritage at museums.

In addition, the Conference on the conservation and promotion of the values ​​of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town in the current new context and the Meeting to celebrate the 26th anniversary of Hoi An and My Son Sanctuary being recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage. In particular, Hoi An will waive entrance fees to the Old Quarter on December 4 as a thank you to the people and tourists.

Hoi An Bai Choi Art Exchange Night - The process of preserving and promoting heritage on the evening of December 7, where artisans, researchers and the public meet, share and enjoy Bai Choi art performances - a unique intangible heritage that has become the pride of the indigenous culture of the Central region.
