Phu Quoc determined to clear land to expand airport to welcome APEC 2027

In addition to promoting and mobilizing people to voluntarily hand over land, Phu Quoc has resolutely enforced site clearance and handed over land to investors to expand Phu Quoc International Airport to welcome APEC 2027.

On the afternoon of October 21, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Quoc Special Zone announced that the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone has just coordinated with relevant units to enforce remedial measures for administrative violations in the field of land for households with land in Suoi May quarter, Phu Quoc Special Zone (An Giang).

Households whose land was forcibly recovered include: Ms. NTM with a land area of ​​more than ^1,113m2 ; Ms. NTC with a land area of ​​more than ^6,400m2 ; Mr. TVD with a land area of ​​nearly ^1,700m2 ; Mr. VVT with a land area of ​​about ^2,200m2 ; Ms. TPH with a land area of ^{​​9,200m2} ; Ms. TTTN with a land area of ​​more than ^600m2 .

The locality will hand over the above recovered area to investors to carry out the project of expanding Phu Quoc International Airport to welcome the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in 2027 (APEC 2027).

Phu Quoc Airport is both a gateway to welcome high-ranking leaders of countries around the world to attend APEC 2027 and to welcome international tourists.

Phu Quoc authorities hope that households with land in the project will voluntarily hand over land to serve the common interest and develop the local socio-economy.
