Friendly cooperation between localities continues to be strengthened.

On the morning of June 9, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, cordially received the high-ranking delegation of the Havana City Party Committee, Cuba, led by Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, Party Central Committee member, First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee, Communist Party of Cuba, on the occasion of a visit and work in Vietnam.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, comrade Truong Thi Mai warmly welcomed the visit to Vietnam of the high-ranking delegation of the Havana City Party Committee; expressing her belief that the visit of the delegation will contribute to further tightening the special friendship between the two parties as well as between the two capitals of Hanoi and Havana.

Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai expressed her deep gratitude for the wholehearted support and assistance that the Cuban Party and people have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence as well as in the current cause of national construction and defense; emphasizing the loyal, steadfast and increasingly strong relationship between the two parties, states and peoples, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai reaffirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam in consistently supporting and uniting with the just revolutionary cause and heroic struggle of the Communist Party and the fraternal Cuban people, and at the same time being ready to share, exchange experiences and practically support the fraternal Cuban people within its capacity.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai was pleased that the friendly cooperation between localities, especially between Hanoi and Havana, continued to be strengthened, with many new and practical cooperation contents, contributing to tightening feelings, enhancing understanding and promoting cooperation in many fields suitable to the conditions and potentials of the localities of the two countries.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai welcomed and highly appreciated the positive results in the cooperation relationship between the Hanoi Party Committee and the Havana Party Committee, suggesting that the two Party Committees closely coordinate and direct the departments and branches of both sides to concretize them into specific programs and action plans to effectively implement the newly signed Cooperation Agreement for the period 2023-2028, especially in areas where the two cities have strengths and potential such as agriculture, urban construction and planning, public health care, tourism development, industrial park management, attracting foreign investment, digital transformation, etc.

Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar expressed his strong impression of the great changes and valuable practical experiences of Vietnam and the capital Hanoi in the process of innovation and development; informed comrade Truong Thi Mai about the socio-economic development situation, measures to improve people's lives and the main focus of the Havana City Party Committee to implement the Resolutions of the 8th Congress, continuing the socio-economic update process.

The First Secretary of the Havana Party Committee affirmed the solidarity, attachment and admiration of the Cuban people in general and the capital Havana in particular for the Vietnamese people and the people of the capital Hanoi, and expressed his deep belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater achievements, making Vietnam increasingly strong and developed.

Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam for always paying attention to and creating favorable conditions for the development of relations between the capital Havana and the capital Hanoi, as well as for their solidarity and practical support for the Party, State and people of Cuba in general and the people of the capital Havana in improving social security, fighting to protect the achievements of the revolution, and steadfastly pursuing the goal of building socialism in Cuba.

Comrade Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar reported on the content of the exchange and the high consensus between the two Party Committees on major directions and measures for cooperation between the two capitals to expand the scope and improve the effectiveness of cooperation in many important fields, continue to share experiences and provide practical support to each other, and said that the coordination in implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the two Party Committees for the period 2023-2028 will achieve substantial and good results.
