Known as the nightingale of the Northwest mountains, from a young age, Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam nurtured her memories and passion for songs about this land.

In her debut album , "Mời anh về Tây Bắc" (Come to the Northwest) , she dedicated the song "Điện Biên đón người" (Dien Bien Welcomes You) to Dien Bien, singing it with an exceptionally clear and sweet voice.

In 2020, upon releasing the song, the winner of the folk music category of the 2017 Sao Mai singing competition revealed that she hadn't had the chance to visit Dien Bien, but based on her own knowledge and through the lyrics of composer Ha Quang Anh, she understood that Dien Bien is a very beautiful and charming place.

Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam shared that during the recording of the album "Mời anh về Tây Bắc" (Come to the Northwest) , there were songs where she even cried, but when singing "Điện Biên đón người" (Dien Bien Welcomes You) , she felt very comfortable.

"The song was recorded quite quickly, and I think I've probably fallen in love with Dien Bien," My Lam said.

"Dien Bien Welcomes People" is an easy-to-sing, simple song, and My Lam felt a connection to her own personality. Therefore, her memories of singing her first song about Dien Bien are filled with ease, comfort, and joy.

The unreleased music video was filmed in Dien Bien.

Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam's music videos always evoke a feeling of comfort and warmth. For her, each musical product is a leisurely stroll. Therefore, a music video created during her trip to Điện Biên has been born, but it has not yet been revealed.

During her trip to Dien Bien to perform at the 2023 Ban Flower Festival, My Lam joined a film crew from Ne Kenh and went up the mountain to shoot the music video for "Chiec Khan Pieu" (The Pieu Scarf ). It was a coincidence, and the music video was filmed very simply.

Sharing her experience of looking down from the mountaintop, the singer said she was very impressed with the beauty of the place and still remembers the image of a lonely tree there. In addition, the fear of riding a motorbike up the mountain and cycling down the hillside are also unforgettable memories of her time in Dien Bien.

Currently, the music video for "Chiếc Khăn Piêu" has not yet been released. Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam regrets the delay in releasing the MV, but she assures that she will introduce it to the public soon.

Nostalgia for the Bauhinia flower

The opportunity to perform at the Dien Bien Province Ban Flower Festival 2022 instilled in the heart of this nightingale of the Northwest mountains a deep longing for the white color of the ban flower - a distinctive symbol that draws people to this place.

She discovered a bauhinia tree in the Ne Kenh area, with a very large trunk and a wide, round canopy. From that bauhinia tree, one could see the entire picturesque city of Dien Bien Phu.

My Lam had many words of praise for this bauhinia tree. On both occasions she performed in Dien Bien, she took photos with "that tree friend." She shared that she still keeps a video of herself standing under the tree and singing.

Not only that, the singer also shared her positive impression of the local bon soup, which she found refreshing, delicious, and very appetizing.

In particular, she found the people here very friendly and lovely, from the makeup artists, cameramen, and photographers to the woman selling drinks. For My Lam, Dien Bien is incredibly dear to her and a place worth visiting.

Regarding future plans, Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam shared that she will continue to embrace and seek out songs that celebrate the beauty of the Northwest and Northeast regions of Vietnam. She plans to create a product with a fresher feel, incorporating contemporary folk influences, and a youthful style in terms of arrangement, lyrics, and visuals.

Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam was crowned the champion in the folk music category of the Sao Mai 2017 competition. This Nùng ethnic girl from Lào Cai captivated the audience with her clear, bright voice and professional performance skills.

After winning the award, My Lam tried her hand at the bolero genre and won first prize in the 2018 "Singer of Love Songs" competition.

Following her debut album "Mời anh về Tây Bắc" (Invite You to Come to the Northwest) in 2020 and the "Tây Bắc và em" (Northwest and Me) project in 2022, Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lam continues to seek new inspiration about the Northwest region in her musical works. On March 8th, she released the music video "Hoa rừng nhớ anh" (Forest Flowers Miss You) , featuring an incredibly sweet and nostalgic melody.
