Ninh Binh is one of the provinces that possesses magnificent and beautiful natural landscapes along with attractive running routes. This is a great potential for the province to host large-scale running events, creating a ripple effect and promoting the local image.

Run for Conservation

Marathon running is a growing sport , and Ninh Binh has consistently been a reputable destination for event organizers. Since the beginning of 2025, Ninh Binh has hosted six marathon races, attracting thousands of athletes from both within and outside the country. The Cuc Phuong Jungle Paths 2025 race, organized by the New Race Track Joint Stock Company and Cuc Phuong National Park in collaboration with the Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports in April 2025, was one of the most impressive races, attracting many participants.

This is an international mass sports event with over 2,500 professional and amateur athletes registered to compete, including 42 foreign athletes from 17 countries and territories. The race route runs through Vietnam's oldest national park and buffer zone, with spectacular trails crossing three provinces: Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Hoa Binh .

Immersed in the lush greenery of Cuc Phuong National Park, athletes were challenged on winding trails that meandered through ancient primeval forests. The majestic natural scenery and diverse terrain provided unforgettable running experiences. With the message "Run to preserve," Cuc Phuong Jungle Paths 2025 is not just a race, but also a meaningful journey, contributing to nature conservation and raising community awareness about environmental protection.

Athlete Nguyen The Anh (from Hanoi) shared that this was his first time challenging himself with a 42km race. The deeper he went into the forest, the more he admired the fascinating natural scenery and the more endemic plants appeared. The fresh air of nature and the challenging routes were a wonderful experience for this athlete.

The Ninh Binh Heritage Half Marathon, scheduled to be held this August at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Historical Site in Hoa Lu City, Ninh Binh Province, is one of the most anticipated races of 2025 for athletes.

Mr. Le Minh Tho, Director of Trang An Ninh Binh One-Member Limited Liability Company, representing the Organizing Committee, shared that Ninh Binh is a locality with unique natural landscapes. In particular, it boasts the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex. The race is not just a competition, but also an exciting experience of exploring new lands that the Organizing Committee hopes to bring to the athletes. To date, 3,500 athletes have registered to participate, promising to be a sporting event that raises awareness of health training, inspires a sporting spirit in the community, and serves as a bridge connecting culture, tourism, and people between regions. Through the race, it contributes to promoting Ninh Binh tourism and conveying the message of healthy living, love of nature, and spreading social responsibility. This is a symbolic event representing a positive, civilized lifestyle and community cohesion.

In recent years, marathon running has become a trend, serving as a bridge to promote tourism in local areas. Promoting heritage tourism through running events is an effective way to attract tourists and showcase the beauty and cultural value of heritage sites. Running events organized at heritage sites not only offer a unique sporting experience but also help promote the image of the heritage, attract community interest, and boost local tourism development.

Thanks to its beautiful and majestic natural landscapes that create exciting running routes, Ninh Binh province is orienting itself towards developing and hosting large-scale marathon races, creating a ripple effect, promoting and boosting tourism development.

Each marathon attracts thousands of participants, along with their family and friends who come to cheer them on and visit, creating opportunities for local tourism development. Organizing the race creates business opportunities for local enterprises, promoting the development of tourism services such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation. Therefore, if properly utilized, this will be a good opportunity to develop the movement of physical exercise and sports, improve health, and boost tourism in the province. Beyond the economic benefits of the race, thousands of athletes will become tourism ambassadors, spreading the image and people of the province to friends both domestically and internationally.

According to Vu Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, in recent years, the province has coordinated the organization of marathon races to promote its tourism image to domestic and international friends. These events have been building a brand and gradually transcending the boundaries of a mere sporting activity to become an impressive cultural and tourism event, attracting a large number of athletes and fans from both within and outside the country.

With positive results, the Department will continue to promote and introduce the image of Ninh Binh's land and people to domestic and international friends through large-scale sporting events, promising to create a ripple effect and contribute to promoting and boosting tourism.
