Precious heritage

With its abundant natural resources and a vast and unique system of thousands of tangible and intangible cultural heritage sites spanning 4,000 years of national history, all of these factors contribute to making Vietnam one of the world's most famous tourist destinations, with heritage sites recognized by UNESCO.

Heritage sites not only possess historical values and are invaluable spiritual assets, but are also a "gold mine" for the nation, a rich resource for economic growth. Dr. Le Thi Minh Ly, Member of the National Council for Cultural Heritage and Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, affirmed: "Cultural heritage is like the DNA of a nation; it is its identity and the identifying mark of that nation. Cultural heritage is also a spiritual anchor, a solid foundation for each nation and people in their journey of integration and cultural exchange with the international community."

Associate Professor Dr. Do Van Tru - Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and Chairman of the Management Board of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund - affirmed: “Cultural heritage includes tangible heritage, intangible heritage, and memory heritage. It is a spiritual and material product with historical, cultural, and scientific value, formed, built, and nurtured from generation to generation, a continuous connection between the past, present, and future. No country can build its culture without history. The value of cultural heritage, accumulated from tradition, brings spiritual strength and becomes the essence for developing a new culture and a new society suitable to the new situation.”

Young people are bringing cultural heritage to life on digital platforms.

Recently, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund, the Vietnam Ethnic Cultures Department, the CDIT Institute of Information and Communication Technology, and the TikTok platform officially signed a cooperation agreement to preserve and promote the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage on digital platforms. The event also included a panel discussion on the theme "Technology, Youth, and Heritage," featuring presentations from reputable speakers, including representatives from TikTok Vietnam, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund, the CDIT Institute of Information and Communication Technology, and many prominent young figures. The speakers discussed ways to bring heritage closer to young people, foster a love for heritage, and harness the potential of technology and digital platforms to connect young people with traditional culture. The seminar also offered fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to help spread heritage values through online content, thereby building a community of young people passionate about culture and actively participating in activities to preserve and promote the value of Vietnamese heritage.

Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh, Representative of TikTok Vietnam, shared: “As a platform attracting the attention and followers of a large number of young people, TikTok plays an important role in supporting the promotion and dissemination of the beauty of Vietnamese heritage, especially encouraging young people to participate in creating content to connect the past with the present, bringing cultural heritage closer to the younger generation in the new era, to the community, promoting pride in the national cultural heritage of Vietnam and strongly inspiring the community both domestically and internationally.”

In 2025, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund and TikTok launched the hashtag challenge #DiSanVietNam (Vietnam Heritage), encouraging TikTok creators and the user community to create content related to Vietnam's cultural heritage. Specifically, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund and TikTok will collaborate on field trips to localities with unique cultural heritage sites, aiming to film and create content about these sites. Joining this journey are popular TikTok content creators such as Giao Cùn, Ninh TiTo, Cee Jay, Mạnh Tiến Khôi, Đinh Trang Thảo, and others.

Through experiencing the culture, cuisine, natural landscapes, tangible and intangible heritage, and listening to historical stories from these locations, they will contribute to strongly promoting Vietnamese heritage on digital platforms. With their creative perspective and approachable style, TikTok content creators not only help spread cultural values to young people but also bring Vietnamese heritage closer to a wider audience both domestically and internationally, transforming traditional values into a modern and vibrant source of inspiration.
