In the pommel horse event, athlete Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien excellently won the gold medal with 14.367 points. This result far surpassed the second-place competitor by 1.267 points, demonstrating the complete superiority of the athlete from Ho Chi Minh City.

This gold medal marked the opening for the Gymnastics Team at the 33rd SEA Games. Notably, this is the third consecutive time athlete Xuan Thien has won the pommel horse event at the 31st, 32nd, and 33rd SEA Games – creating a rare hattrick of gold medals in the history of Vietnamese gymnastics.
Shortly afterwards, in the rings final, athlete Nguyen Van Khanh Phong won the gold medal with 13.767 points. This was the second consecutive SEA Games in which Khanh Phong won gold in the rings event.

Also this afternoon, in the vault event, athlete Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu left many disappointed when she missed out on the gold medal. Initially, she was scored higher, but after the Philippine team appealed and the organizers agreed to adjust the score, the highest score was awarded to their athlete. In the end, Quynh Nhu received the silver medal.
In Taekwondo, Vietnamese fighter Nguyen Hong Trong won 2-1 against Tumakaka of Indonesia in the final.
In Ju-jitsu, Dang Dinh Tung defeated Baluyo Yman Xavier of the Philippines with a score of 5-0 in the final of the men's 69kg Newaza category.
Meanwhile, in Judo, two martial artists, Tran Quoc Cuong and Phan Minh Hanh, displayed superior technique, achieving an absolute victory in the Nage no Kata final.
