Recently, on his personal social media page, young tennis player Quang Duong (born in 2006) surprised everyone by revealing the reason for declining to participate in the PPA Tour Asia tournament.
When asked by a fan about his plans to participate in the tournament, Quang Duong frankly replied: "I'm not doing free advertising for Joola. The prize money is only $1,500 (nearly 40 million VND), which is even less than amateur tournaments in Vietnam."

Quang Duong's statement not only attracted the attention of all pickleball fans in Vietnam but also revealed his disappointment with the prize money and the lack of appeal of professional tournaments in the Asian region.
According to PPA Tour Asia, the Vietnam Open is the final leg of the 2025 PPA Tour Asia series of three consecutive tournaments, following the Hong Kong Open (August 21-24) (Hong Kong, China) and the Sansan Fukuoka Open (August 26-31) (Japan). The tournament is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 4-7.
Notably, the news of Quang Duong's refusal to participate in the PPA Tour Asia emerged shortly after the young player's contract with the PPA was terminated. This decision is seen as a turning point, giving him the freedom to choose a suitable playing field.
Recently, Quang Duong has been spending more time returning to Vietnam and other Asian countries to participate in amateur tournaments and exchange events. These activities not only help him maintain his form but also provide him with a more attractive income, even surpassing some international tournaments. This is seen as a new direction for the Vietnamese-born tennis player now that he is no longer bound to the professional league system.
