Quang Ngai: 2 consecutive earthquakes in the morning

On the morning of September 17, two earthquakes occurred in succession in Mang But commune, Quang Ngai province. Fortunately, the earthquakes did not cause any natural disaster risks.

According to information from the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences (under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), at 2:26:57 a.m. on September 17, an earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale occurred at the coordinates (14.847 degrees North latitude, 108.245 degrees East longitude), in Mang But commune, Quang Ngai province, with a focal depth of about 8.1 km.

The second earthquake occurred at 2:31:08 on the same day, also in Mang But commune. The earthquake had a magnitude of 3 on the Richter scale and occurred at the coordinates (14.845 degrees North latitude, 108.263 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 8.1 km.

These earthquakes do not pose a disaster risk.
