Ha Long International Cruise Port resumed operations on September 10th.

Over the past few days, the Bay Management Board has proactively coordinated with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to urgently mobilize forces to mitigate the damage caused by the storm.

To date, several tourist attractions have met the requirements to welcome and serve tourists . The Ha Long Bay Management Board announces the organization of welcoming and serving tourists at the eligible locations as follows: Route 1 (Thien Cung Cave - Dau Go Cave); Route 2 (Sung Sot Cave, Luon Cave, Ti Top Cave); Route 5 (excluding Ba Hang Cave).

In addition, the following overnight accommodation points are also eligible to receive guests: Hon 587 - Nha Lat - Hang Luon; and the Hon Cat Lan speedboat transfer point.

According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, the remaining tourist attractions in Ha Long Bay are currently being served with maximum resources to urgently address the aftermath of the storm and will announce the resumption of visitor services as soon as possible.

Also on September 13th, in order to quickly restore the tourism industry after the storm, at a meeting with tourism businesses in the area, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the province would immediately direct the removal of all difficulties faced by tourism businesses. A three-day campaign to clean up Ha Long Bay will be organized to welcome tourists back after Typhoon No. 3.

According to the report, most onshore accommodation facilities suffered damage including broken glass, broken tiles, damaged or fallen trees and lampposts; the electrical, air conditioning, and water systems of many establishments were severely damaged, concentrated mainly in Ha Long, Van Don, Cam Pha, and Co To; 27 tourist boats and 4 transfer vessels sank; infrastructure at Tuan Chau International Passenger Port suffered damage to the roof, and the offices and reception areas of businesses at the port were also damaged. The entire pontoon of berth number 3 at Ha Long International Passenger Port was swept away…

To quickly restore tourism and service activities, immediately after the storm, relevant units began remediation efforts, aiming to ensure conditions for welcoming tourists as soon as possible. However, the remediation work faced difficulties due to the lack of electricity, water, and telecommunications systems.

Businesses requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct and support post-storm recovery efforts; continue organizing tourism promotion programs; review and add new tourist attractions to alleviate congestion in traditional areas. In addition, they requested immediate salvage of sunken ships to ensure stable and safe transportation operations; and policies to extend or postpone bank loan repayments and overdue social insurance payments.

Sharing the difficulties faced by units and businesses, and in order to ensure the fastest recovery of the service and tourism sector, creating a safe, friendly, and attractive destination for tourists; affirming the province's spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy hopes that units and businesses operating in the service and tourism sector will join hands and work together with the province to overcome these challenges during this difficult period.

"Immediately after the storm, the Provincial People's Committee directly met with service and tourism businesses, demonstrating the province's concern and worry for this key economic sector. The consistent viewpoint is that the goals and targets for services and tourism will remain steadfast and unchanged according to the plan to contribute to the overall growth of the province," Mr. Cao Tuong Huy emphasized.

The Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and agencies to immediately address the incidents; prioritize electricity and telecommunications services; and promptly handle environmental sanitation and food safety issues to facilitate the reception of tourists. In particular, he called for the immediate implementation of a three-day cleanup campaign in Ha Long Bay to collect waste, improve infrastructure, salvage sunken ships, and mobilize all organizations and associations to participate.

Tour boats in Ha Long Bay are ready to welcome and serve tourists.

At the same time, conduct a thorough review and strict management of prices, ensuring the supply of food and essential goods; immediately restore sightseeing and accommodation activities in eligible areas in Ha Long Bay, and tourist transportation to the islands; and strengthen the promotion of the province's tourism potential and strengths.

Regarding proposals from tourism and service businesses, the Department of Finance is requested to develop a plan to support water price subsidies; the Department of Transport is requested to support the salvage operation of sunken tourist boats. Information on current tax exemption and reduction policies under state regulations should be provided immediately.

To support businesses, Quang Ninh will immediately propose to the Government banking policies including debt restructuring, debt deferral, debt postponement, interest rate reduction, and new loans for affected businesses; and request reductions in electricity prices, taxes, insurance, etc.
