Launching Cambridge English exam center in Da Lat

(LĐ online) - On the afternoon of May 26, Dalat University coordinated with the Authorized Testing Center VN290 (under Hoa Thang Education and Investment Company Limited) to organize the launching ceremony of the Cambridge English test site in Dalat.

Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang – Vice Rector and Deputy Director of the Center for Foreign Languages ​​and Human Resource Training at Da Lat University – stated: VN290 is an authorized unit of Cambridge English and has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training to jointly organize Cambridge English certificate exams in Binh Thuan , Dong Nai, and Lam Dong provinces. To make it more convenient for candidates in these areas to access Cambridge English certificate exams, VN290 collaborated with Da Lat University to open an examination site at the university on April 17, 2025.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Pham Minh Duc, Supervisor of Cambridge University Examinations in Vietnam, informed that Cambridge English certificates are now widely recognized globally by 28,000 universities, businesses, and government organizations. Each year, more than 5.5 million candidates in over 130 countries participate in Cambridge exams through a network of over 2,800 authorized testing centers and more than 50,000 test preparation centers. The publisher and Cambridge University Examinations also provide comprehensive teaching materials and support for teachers and learners worldwide to best prepare for these exams.

In Vietnam, a number of Cambridge certificates have been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training to exempt English from the National High School Graduation Exam as well as to serve as a basis for admission and exit for undergraduate, master's and doctoral training programs.

Currently, Cambridge exams are administered in two formats: paper-based and computer-based. In particular, the computer-based format is becoming increasingly popular due to its superior advantages such as faster results announcement, flexible exam schedules, a simple registration process, and a modern, convenient exam experience for candidates.

In the context of increasingly deep international integration, improving foreign language proficiency for students, especially English, has become one of the strategic goals of Vietnamese education.

The establishment of the Cambridge English test center in Da Lat not only meets the local demand for learning and testing English according to international standards but also actively contributes to the goal of improving foreign language proficiency for the young generation in Lam Dong.
