According to SamMobile , Samsung is planning to hold its Galaxy Unpacked event to launch the Galaxy S24 in San Francisco, USA, in January 2024. San Francisco is traditionally the location where Samsung launches its new Galaxy S series each year.
Samsung is accelerating the launch of the Galaxy S24 series amid pressure from the iPhone 15 series.
Recent reports suggest that Samsung will bring back Exynos chips to its high-end phones with the launch of the Galaxy S24. Specifically, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ may use the Exynos 2400 chip in most parts of the world , while Canada, China, and the US will receive the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 version. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to exclusively use the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chip for Galaxy devices.
Speaking of the Exynos 2400, launched last week at SLSI Tech Days 2023, the Exynos 2400 comes with a 70% faster CPU, an AMD RDNA3-based Xclipse 940 GPU, and 14.7 times faster AI processing capabilities.
With the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the phone is expected to offer several improvements such as a titanium frame, LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays for all models in the lineup, and upgraded cameras. The Galaxy S24 may feature a Full HD+ display, while the Galaxy S24+ will have a Quad HD+ display. All three phones are expected to reach brightness levels of up to 2,400 nits, run One UI 6.1 based on Android 14, and receive at least four major Android OS updates.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy S24/S24+ may come with a 50MP main camera on the back, paired with a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. For the higher-end Galaxy S24 Ultra, it may feature a 200MP main camera on the back, combined with a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. All three models will have a 12MP selfie camera on the front.
Finally, the Galaxy S24 may come with a 4,000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S24+ has a 4,900 mAh battery and the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery. The Galaxy S24+/S24 Ultra will have 45W fast charging, while the Galaxy S24 has 25W fast charging. All support 15W super fast charging and 4.5W wireless reverse charging. They may support two-way satellite communication for emergency messaging. The Ultra model also has S Pen support.
