Vietnamese products attract considerable interest from tourists.
In addition to displaying and introducing OCOP products, handicrafts, gifts, and agricultural products, the delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, together with the Federation of Handicrafts and Small and Medium Enterprises in the Fashion Sector of Lombardia (CNA Fedemoda Lombardia), organized a workshop on the Vietnam-Italy handicraft cooperation program.
At the seminar, Mr. Jean Blanchaert, an artisan and handicraft expert from Milan, highly praised OCOP products and traditional craft products from Vietnam. He stated that these are invaluable treasures reflecting the cultural and spiritual values of the Vietnamese people, and that they need to be further promoted so that the world can better understand Vietnamese culture and products. With his seasoned experience as an artisan, Mr. Jean Blanchaert, having traveled extensively in Vietnam, believes that Vietnamese craft villages should focus on developing and improving the quality of their handcrafted products. Furthermore, Vietnam needs to focus on training young people to continue the craft through world-class design courses so that upon returning to Vietnam, they can collaborate with artisans to create traditional products with innovative and creative trends that suit consumer tastes. Through the seminar, speakers from both sides highlighted the strengths of each country's handicraft industry and exchanged views on consumer trends, aesthetic trends, and cooperation trends to sustainably develop the handicraft industry in both countries. Following the seminar, the delegation continued with a roundtable conference with Mr. Gabrielle Alberti, Director of the Exhibition Fair. Both sides had a very open exchange and shared their desire to jointly build a long-term cooperation program and plan in developing and promoting the cultural values of the Vietnamese people, embodied in each OCOP product and traditional craft product of Vietnam, in line with the shopping and consumption tastes of the world.
