A series of diverse and attractive activities
The 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival in 2025, with the theme "Ca Mau Crab: Forest Scent - Sea Flavor", will officially take place from November 16 to 22. According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the series of activities within the framework of the Festival is built richly and attractively, including about 15 main activities: exhibition space, trade exhibition, forums , specialized seminars.

Along with that, there are many unique cultural, sports and tourism activities such as: organizing the processing and promotion of dishes from Ca Mau crabs combined with local specialties; launching the contest to select the largest crab from households in the province and setting a record for Ca Mau crabs. In particular, the regional Southern Amateur Music Festival will have the participation of amateur music clubs from many provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta; along with the Marathon - Ca Mau 2025 for the PETROVIETNAM Cup, gathering domestic and international athletes.
Mr. Ly Vy Trieu Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said : "This year's festival, the Department was assigned to preside over the implementation. Up to this point, all preparations are on schedule and according to the plan. We have completed the stage design, opening and closing program scripts. The opening ceremony is expected to take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 16 at Phan Ngoc Hien Square (An Xuyen Ward). The main activities will take place from November 16 to 18, with the exhibition space lasting until November 22. Visual propaganda and promotion work is being implemented, expected to be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval before October 25."
According to Mr. Duong, the Department of Science and Technology has established the Organizing Committee and the Working Group for the Ca Mau 2025 Startup Competition; issued the plan and regulations for the "Setting a record for Ca Mau crab" competition and the CamaUP'25 Startup Festival event. Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has prepared plans to deploy a space for displaying and exhibiting OCOP products at Phan Ngoc Hien Square.
Highlights of the event " Hello Ca Mau "
The highlight of the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival is the event “Hello Ca Mau”, a promotion program for the Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City from November 13-15. The event aims to introduce the potential, strengths, and investment opportunities of the locality; expand cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises and investors, and promote the image of the land and people of Ca Mau as dynamic, friendly, and rich in identity.
Mr. Huynh Cong Quan, Director of the Department of Finance, informed: “Up to now, the basic preparation work has been completed. The Department of Finance of Ho Chi Minh City has approved the event organization plan. The units will coordinate to determine the opening location, exhibition space, and promotion of the Ca Mau Crab Festival; at the same time, arrange a location to hold a conference to promote investment, trade and tourism, connecting trade between Ca Mau enterprises and domestic and foreign buyers. The activities are expected to take place at the Rex Saigon Hotel and Le Loi Street (Ho Chi Minh City)”.

Crab is one of the two main seafood products of Ca Mau (after shrimp) and has been granted a geographical indication certificate, which is also an important legal tool in brand management and promotion. With favorable natural conditions, by 2024, the whole province will have 252,000 hectares of combined crab farming, with an output of more than 25,200 tons. After the merger, Ca Mau aims to become the largest crab farming center in the country, striving to reach a total output of about 40,000 tons by 2030.
Through the Crab Festival, the province hopes to connect and cooperate with domestic and foreign businesses and investors, gradually building a complete value chain for the sea crab industry; enhancing the competitiveness of the Ca Mau Crab brand in the domestic and international markets.
“ Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su emphasized : “The Ca Mau Crab Festival is not only an occasion to honor the province's typical products but also demonstrates the locality's vision of sustainable development and international integration. Thereby, affirming the brand, spreading the value and enhancing the position of Ca Mau Crab, the pride of the southernmost land of the Fatherland”.
