The High Hoop Basketball Festival is a free event for children aged 8 to 13, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City (December 17), Da Nang (January 7, 2024), Vinh City (January 14, 2024) and Hanoi (January 21, 2024) with the participation of guest stars from the Saigon Heat basketball club. This is the first professional basketball team in Vietnam and has won the VBA championship 4 times in a row.

Today at the Canadian International School (CIS) Gymnasium, 600 young athletes attended the first leg in Ho Chi Minh City. The Saigon Heat Club stars, including Nguyen Huynh Phu Vinh, Vo Kim Ban, Tim Waale, etc., interacted with and guided them in playing basketball. After a collective warm-up with the guidance of Saigon Heat Club head coach David John Grice, the children were divided into groups to play and show off their basketball shooting skills.

The organizing committee also coordinated with basketball academies in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang , Vinh and Hanoi, selecting 20 students from each locality to train and provide additional skills and tactics in competition, contributing to training and helping young talents achieve their dreams.

The High Hoop basketball festival event is organized by Sun Life Vietnam in collaboration with Saigon Heat Club to inspire, nurture and find talents for Vietnamese basketball.
