On the morning of November 9, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board announced a temporary traffic organization plan for the North-South Expressway project, Eastern section, La Son - Hoa Lien.
According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the weather at the North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section through Hue City and Da Nang City is still complicated.

Mobilizing vehicles and machinery to expand the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway section
Although there is no longer any prolonged heavy rain, there is still scattered rain, causing the soil and rocks on the slope to be saturated with water, posing a high risk of landslides. At the points where landslides have occurred on the route recently, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has directed the construction contractors to mobilize maximum resources, equipment, and machinery to carry out cleaning day and night to ensure the entire route is cleared as soon as possible.
As of October 31, the project has opened to one lane.
Mr. Tran Duc Hiep, Director of the La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway Project Management Board, said that due to the complicated weather conditions, the risk of landslides and rockfalls at the single-lane open points and new locations is still very high.
In addition, at night, thick fog and dangerous winding mountain passes pose a potential traffic safety risk to people and vehicles.

Heavy rains over the past few days have caused the slopes on the highway to be full of water, posing a very high risk of landslides.
Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has implemented a temporary traffic organization plan on the North-South Expressway, East section, La Son - Hoa Lien.
Accordingly, from November 10, at the landslide locations of Km50+700 - Km50+800, Km41+450 - Km41+550 and Km42+700 - Km42+800, one lane will be opened for traffic immediately. At the same time, traffic control forces will be deployed 24/7 on the route, monitoring for about 10 days (from November 10 to 20).
After a period of monitoring and evaluation, if safety conditions are met, the route will be opened to two lanes.
In addition, from 6am on November 10 to 6am on November 20, all passenger cars and trucks with more than 6 axles are prohibited from traveling. Qualified vehicles are only allowed to travel on the route from 5am to 5pm daily.
After 10 days, we will evaluate and have a plan to reopen traffic normally.
Mr. Hiep added that the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board will coordinate with relevant agencies to add prohibition signs and direction signs at intersections and connecting routes from National Highway 1A to the Project, according to the above traffic diversion plan so that people are aware.
