According to a quick report from the Bac Giang Department of Health , on the morning of October 21, dozens of workers of Shinsung Vina Limited Liability Company (Song Khe-Noi Hoang Industrial Park) had symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, dizziness, and fever, and were taken to Bac Giang Provincial General Hospital and Tan Dan General Hospital for emergency care and treatment.

As of 11:15 a.m. on October 21, 46 workers were being treated in hospitals.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thu, a worker at the Company, is being treated at the Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Department, Bac Giang General Hospital, said that at noon on October 20, she had a party at the Company. That evening, she had dinner at home. At 4:00 a.m. on October 21, she had severe stomach pain and had diarrhea many times. Her family bought her diarrhea medicine but it did not help, so they took her to the emergency room. No one in her family had the same symptoms as her.

According to the representative of the Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Department, Bac Giang General Hospital, up to now, the department is treating 25 patients of Shinsung Vina Company Limited. The victims were all hospitalized with abdominal pain, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, dizziness, and some had fever. Currently, the victims' lives are not in danger.

Immediately after the incident, the Medical Center of Industrial Parks of Bac Giang province presided over and coordinated with the Health Department, Bac Giang City Medical Center, Shinsung Vina Limited Liability Company... to investigate and collect information about the food facility that provided the October 20 lunch and evaluate the conditions for ensuring food safety (according to the contract signed between the units).

The provincial Center for Disease Control is taking samples for testing to find the cause; the medical centers of the provincial Industrial Parks and the Bac Giang City Health Department are investigating and taking samples of stored food (if any).

On the afternoon of October 20, Shinsung Vina Limited Liability Company (Song Khe-Noi Hoang Industrial Park) organized a party for its workers. The company hired another company to prepare and organize meals at Noi Hoang Football Field, Noi Hoang Commune, Bac Giang City, with 1,160 participants.

The meal includes: Seafood soup, steamed prawns with coconut water, rare veal with lemon, fried squid with butter, grilled chicken with honey, grilled catfish with galangal and fermented vegetable rolls, seafood spring rolls with avocado cream, sour catfish soup, stir-fried vermicelli with seafood, BBQ ribs, vegetable salad with sesame sauce, banana flower and pig ear salad, shrimp and pork pho rolls, white rice, grapes for dessert, Pepsi./.
