Women's empowerment is a key lever to promote gender equality and build an inclusive and comprehensive economy. The banking system is an important link in this process as it plays the role of both an employer and a provider of capital and financial services. With a sustainable vision that puts people and the community first, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( SeABank , HOSE: SSB) is a pioneer in signing and implementing a gender equality commitment, focusing on empowering and providing equal opportunities for female employees, promoting financial inclusion for individual customers and female businesses.

Equal working environment, empowering women

SeABank believes that diversity and equality in human resources are considered important foundations to promote creativity and innovation. The Bank implements equality in all aspects of human resources activities, from recruitment, development roadmap to remuneration policy.

Accordingly, the non-discriminatory recruitment policy is implemented across the entire chain, ensuring no bias or discrimination against any factors other than professional competence. The system of human resources policies, salaries and performance evaluation promotes transparency, is developed based on achievements and competence with the advice of Mercer - Talentnet, ensuring opportunities for recognition and fair career development.

At the same time, the Bank focuses on maximizing capacity and encouraging women to participate in management positions. By the end of 2024, SeABank will achieve gender balance at all management levels, with 48% of female managers across the bank; of which 51% of the highest-level managers (level 1) and above are women. At the leadership level, SeABank's Board of Directors currently has 50% female members, ensuring a multi-dimensional thinking system and effective management.

Understanding the disadvantages of women in the office environment, SeABank establishes a flexible and balanced working environment with many support policies such as: marriage leave, maternity leave for male and female employees; policies to support female employees during maternity period (reduced working hours, equipped with lactation rooms, breast milk storage cabinets...); welfare policies for employees with young children, support programs/gifts on special occasions for employees' children...

In addition, SeABank focuses on building an open, respectful and cohesive corporate culture. Employees' opinions are listened to through regular surveys, interactions on internal communication channels, and transparent internal complaint/denunciation mechanisms. Regularly organized internal engagement programs and volunteer activities also contribute to strengthening cohesion across the system, creating a foundation for a united, respectful and equal collective.

Accompanying female customers, developing inclusive economy

In order to build an equal business environment, promote financial inclusion and inclusive economic development, SeABank has expanded cooperation and mobilized international capital with a total value of nearly 1.1 billion USD from IFC, DFC, AIIB, Norfund, FMO, Proparco and other international financial funds. Thanks to that, SeABank has strengthened its financial and technical capacity and international experience to diversify and provide specialized "tailored" products for female customers.

In October 2020, the SeAMobile digital banking application launched a personalized feature with an interface specifically for women. In addition, SeABank launched a credit card line for women, SeALady Cashback, with a refund of up to 2% of the transaction value, especially high on customers' birthdays, International Women's Day March 8, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20... Customers also enjoy many incentives on insurance, health care and beauty when owning a SeALady card. In particular, for each transaction from 1 million VND via card, SeABank will contribute 2,000 VND to the "Bright Tomorrow" Cancer Patient Support Fund.

SeABank provides specialized products, expanding development opportunities for female customers.

In order to enhance women's economic empowerment, SeABank cooperates with the Vietnam Women's Union to implement the Women's Entrepreneurship Project for the period 2018 - 2025. In particular, SeAWomen unsecured consumer loans (TSBĐ) are a typical product with a maximum limit of VND 100 million and a term of up to 48 months, free of early repayment fees and streamlined procedures/documents. By the end of 2024, SeAWomen has attracted more than 21,000 cumulative customers, with a total outstanding loan balance of VND 1,087 billion, an increase of 57% over the same period.

At the same time, the Bank has deployed many specialized products to support female-owned businesses to access large and flexible capital sources such as: unsecured overdraft with a limit of up to VND 5 billion; unsecured Visa Corporate credit card with a limit of up to VND 200 million; credit/value of collateral (LTV) ratio of up to 100% for deposits and 95% for real estate... Along with that is a preferential loan interest rate policy, free early repayment for short-term loans, priority service mechanism at all transaction points... to help female-owned businesses access finance promptly and conveniently.

In particular, SeABank creates a comprehensive financial - non-financial ecosystem through the exclusive SeAPower Women Business Owners Club. SeAPower members can participate in many training activities, connect opportunities, support digital transformation and sustainable development, enjoy health care privileges and develop a balanced lifestyle. As of the end of June 2025, the number of female customers at SeABank increased by 140% over the same period, total outstanding loans grew by 115%.

SeABank's efforts to promote gender equality have been effective and recognized by many domestic and international organizations: Vietnam ESG Awards (Dan Tri Newspaper), Sustainable Development Enterprise (VCCI), Best Workplace in Vietnam 2024 (VCCI, Anphabe), Best Workplace in Asia 2021-2023 (HR Asia), Most Innovative Bank for Women in Vietnam 2022 (Global Business), Sustainable Development category at VOBA 2025 and Strong Brand 2025... In particular, SeABank was honored to receive the noble title of UN WEPs Award 2024 (Women's Empowerment Principles 2024) in the category "Gender Equality in the Market" voted by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). This is a recognition of SeABank's contributions in supporting women-owned businesses, in line with the Bank's mission and purpose as a pioneer in signing a commitment to gender equality.
