ANTD.VN - Data from the Hanoi Tax Department on e-commerce business activities has recorded 117 million transactions, thereby identifying and locating more than 325,000 online stores corresponding to 222,000 tax identification numbers, resulting in the collection of nearly 35,000 billion VND in taxes.

According to the Hanoi Tax Department, to further improve the efficiency of tax management, the Tax Sector has focused on building a Big Data database based on the national population database successfully implemented under Government Project 06; combining databases from the Public Security, Planning and Investment, Social Insurance, Statistics agencies, State Bank, Natural Resources and Environment, Transport, etc.

And in particular, the Tax Department's Data Warehouse contains data on over 80 million taxpayers, including businesses, organizations, households, and individual business owners nationwide.

Based on a large database, the Hanoi Tax Department has digitized and connected information to build and develop an e-commerce database system that can accurately identify taxpayers conducting business online.

E-commerce tax revenue has increased significantly thanks to data digitization.

Currently, the Hanoi Tax Department has essentially established a complete database of organizations and individuals engaged in e-commerce, managing over 117 million transaction records. This allows them to identify and locate more than 325,000 online stores, corresponding to 222,000 tax identification numbers of owners and business operators on e-commerce platforms.

The detailed information that the tax authorities have data on includes: name, address, citizen identification number, email, phone number, warehouse address, bank account, and sales value on e-commerce platforms.

As a result, in the first 10 months of 2024, the total state budget revenue from e-commerce activities was nearly 35,000 billion VND, an increase of 9,000 billion VND, or 136%, compared to the same period in 2023 (before implementation).

For each case identified as involving e-commerce business activities that warrant tax declaration and payment, the tax authorities have assigned specific tax officers to provide maximum support and guidance to taxpayers in registering, declaring, and paying taxes to the state budget as easily as possible.

For cases of deliberate tax evasion, where individuals have refused to comply despite being informed and explained the regulations, the Tax Department will resolutely handle them according to the law.
