Connecting cross-border e-commerce

On December 9th, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province , in coordination with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), organized the conference "Promoting Cross-Border E-commerce and Regional Linkages in Lam Dong 2025".

Attending the conference were Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ; Mr. Nguyen Ba Ut, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province; and more than 40 representatives from enterprises and cooperatives.

The conference was held to support businesses, cooperatives and business households in Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region in applying e-commerce. In particular, the conference focused on promoting cross-border e-commerce to promote and consume products not only on domestic trading floors but also to reach international markets. In addition, the event also aimed to strengthen regional linkages in e-commerce development, creating opportunities for Lam Dong to cooperate with other localities in the region.

In her opening speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy , Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy proposed that the People's Committee of Lam Dong province pay due attention to building an e-commerce development plan for the period 2026-2030, because the typical products of the Central Highlands, especially Lam Dong, have high-quality agricultural products, OCOP products and eco-tourism, all of which have many competitive advantages.

In addition, Lam Dong's transportation infrastructure is gradually being improved, creating favorable conditions for the development of cross-border e-commerce and connectivity between the Central Highlands and the Central and Southern coastal regions.

At the conference, Ms. Huyen suggested that speakers and experts focus on the national e-commerce development orientation. Experts would present the national e-commerce development plan for the period 2026-2030, thereby helping Lam Dong province align with the central government's plan.

At the same time, find solutions to support businesses, request units to provide support platforms to help businesses develop e-commerce and improve management capacity, and promote capacity building programs for state management officials and businesses to adapt to new regulations.

Application of e-commerce in brand building

At the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province, commented: This is not only a forum for businesses to meet and exchange, but also opens up many opportunities for breakthrough development. From there, it helps businesses orient their business strategies in line with market trends and open trade policies. This contributes to increasing resilience and adaptability in the context of many fluctuations in the global economy. At the same time, promoting cross-border e-commerce and regional connectivity is truly a solid bridge to bring businesses to a new stage of development, expanding markets and enhancing economic value in the digital age.

The program focuses on introducing policies, sharing experiences, consulting, training business skills in the digital environment; connecting businesses with cross-border e-commerce platforms, technology enterprises and partners in and outside the region; organizing online display and sales (livestream) for typical products.

Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, representative of TikTok shop Vietnam, said that in 2026, TikTok will focus on content accompanying local authorities at two levels with the goal of "locality rising up, green - digital - traditional". With Lam Dong, a locality with many products that are easily accessible on digital platforms, TikTok will have many preferential policies for Lam Dong products.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tan, Marketing Director of Haravan Company, shared that digital technology and e-commerce are opening up many opportunities for businesses, cross-border sales and corporate branding. When businesses have implemented multi-channel sales, management is completely easy, issuing electronic invoices for all electronic invoices with just one "click".

The sharing at the conference were experiences and connections between businesses that left many positive impressions, expanding opportunities for inter-regional cooperation and promoting the development of e-commerce. This not only enhances the competitiveness of businesses but also contributes to sustainable economic development in Lam Dong and the Central Highlands region.

Through the conference, 43 enterprises, cooperatives and business households with outstanding OCOP products and specialties of Lam Dong were attracted. These enterprises, together with technology and digital transformation enterprises, contributed to strengthening regional connectivity, expanding the agricultural product consumption network and improving competitiveness in the context of digital transformation.

Additionally, the program included 35 local exhibitors. Providers of operational solutions and e-commerce services were present to support businesses in applying digital platforms and livestreaming to boost sales and commercial activities.
