Hanoi Department of Justice has 12 affiliated public service units.

Kinhtedothi - The Hanoi People's Committee has issued Decision No. 12/2025/QD-UBND dated February 28, 2025 on regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Hanoi Department of Justice.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Justice is a specialized agency under the City People's Committee, with the function of advising the City People's Committee on state management of law making and enforcement.

The Department monitors the implementation of the law; inspects, processes, reviews, and systematizes legal documents; disseminates and educates on the law; mediation at the grassroots level; legislation; authentication; adoption; civil status; nationality; state compensation; legal aid; lawyers, legal consultants; notaries; judicial appraisal; property auctions; commercial arbitration; commercial mediation; bailiffs; administrators, property management and liquidation enterprises and property management and liquidation practitioners; registers security measures; manages the implementation of the law on handling administrative violations; other judicial work and public career services in the sector and field according to the provisions of law.

The Department of Justice has legal status, its own seal and account; is subject to the direction and management of the City People's Committee in terms of organization and staffing according to its authority and is subject to the direction, guidance, inspection and examination of the Ministry of Justice in terms of expertise and profession.

The organizational structure of the Department of Justice includes 9 specialized departments and 12 public service units, including 10 notary offices in the city.

The Department of Justice is a unit under the Hanoi People's Committee that is not subject to reorganization or consolidation, but it is also reviewing and rearranging the organization and internal structure towards streamlining focal points and operating effectively and efficiently.
