Exciting 'Book Week and Digital Transformation' in Ho Chi Minh City

On October 25, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications held the opening ceremony of Book and Digital Transformation Week (taking place from October 25 to 31), in response to National Digital Transformation Day October 10.

Leaders of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications; representatives of publishing houses and book production units pressed the button to open the Book Week and Digital Transformation in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed: "With the policy of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the response activities are not a single activity but must be a series of activities responding to National Digital Transformation Day, showing the increasingly important role of digital transformation in all fields".

This year's Book and Digital Transformation Week has 24 participating units, with more than 30 programs and exchange activities, in which the highlight of the event is that readers can experience more than 3,000 e-books, audiobooks as well as new forms of book access, and experience book technology associated with digital transformation.

The organizers also introduced to the public an online exhibition space with 498 documents, bringing new and meaningful experiences. Creating an online space is also part of the digital transformation development orientation of the publishing industry, creating new experiences in introducing the process of building and developing the Vietnamese publishing industry to readers.

At the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Information and Communications also announced the design of the book street and book space to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), including: Nguyen Dong Chi Book Street, Binh Tan District Book Space and Cu Chi District Book Space.

People experience the BOOKAS audiobook application

On this occasion, BOOKAS Joint Stock Company, a pioneer in applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to book publishing and distribution, also donated 10,000 audiobooks (worth 500 million VND) to the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, to contribute to the program "Equipping 5 million books for local facilities".

On the same day, BOOKAS Joint Stock Company also launched the BOOKAS Audiobook Application, within the framework of Book Week and Digital Transformation activities at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street.
