Complete documents and approve adjustments to the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone before April 30
The Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant departments and branches to coordinate with the consulting unit to complete the adjustment dossier to submit to the competent authority for approval before April 30, 2025.
The Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee recently had a working session with the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to listen to a report approving the plan and ideas for adjusting the general construction planning and adjusting the boundary of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone.
Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong said that the adjustment of the Master Plan for the construction of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone to 2045 aims to overcome the shortcomings of the 2016 Plan. It provides a new development orientation in line with the strategy and development requirements of Quang Tri province and the North Central region. In particular, it fully integrates the contents and targets of the Provincial Plan, linked with the new rural planning and specialized planning. At the same time, it orients the development of the marine economy, ensuring national defense and security, according to Resolution No. 26/NQ-TW on the strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy.

According to Mr. Ha Sy Dong, the new adjustments compared to the approved Planning Project in 2016 include: Adjusting and rearranging according to large, directional, open and flexible subdivisions. Adjusting the scope, scale, function, space, land and main infrastructure framework, in the direction of greening, integrating and optimizing the functions of the subdivisions.
Adjust the overall Quang Tri Power and Energy Center area. Develop offshore wind power according to the marine economic strategy. Form a complex of production, landing and storage, processing of energy products, technology research, energy transit, large scale, regional level. Arrange a chain of logistics service areas to exploit the advantages of geographical location and traffic in the Southeast Economic Zone, diversify types of logistics: seaport, aviation, river port, industry...
Ecological area of the confluence of Hieu River and Thach Han River and water area, developing aquaculture combined with discovery and experience tourism. Increasing the scale of industrial land to more than 800 hectares. Re-delineating the rural development area, connecting with mixed-function areas along the main traffic axis. Orienting the development of highly adaptable rural agricultural areas.
Add a coastal route from Trieu An to Hai An, which is a development route associated with national defense and coastal patrol. Identify a specific 500KV power line section in the Economic Zone. Extend the coastal route, ensuring unity, convenience and feasibility in the implementation of the first phase of the driving force project. Expand National Highway 15D axis by 200m on each side to become an economic - technical - industrial - energy - service corridor axis...
The development zones after adjustment include: Central area; urban area - urban service development, coastal eco-tourism, industrial development support; Quang Tri airport area; agricultural - rural area.
According to the proposal of the consulting unit, there are 2 adjustment options. Option 1 will adjust the boundary of the Southeast Economic Zone in the direction of increasing the area. The total adjusted area will increase by about 2,370 hectares (nearly 10% of the total area of the Southeast Economic Zone).
Option 2 will adjust the boundary of the Southeast Economic Zone by both increasing and decreasing the area. The total adjusted area will remain unchanged after adjustment.
At the meeting, Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai said that the Provincial Party Standing Committee agreed with the plan to adjust the boundary of the Southeast Economic Zone, but requested the Provincial People's Committee to continue to complete and clarify the contents of this plan based on comments from members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the issued conclusions.

In addition, the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee also requested the consulting unit to fully and comprehensively absorb the opinions at the meeting and carry out legal procedures in parallel with the process of submitting the adjustment of the Planning.
"Regarding the orientation and goals of this adjustment, the Provincial Party Standing Committee agrees with the contents proposed by the Provincial People's Committee," Mr. Nguyen Long Hai emphasized.
