Site preparation completed - laying the foundation for the project.
The project received the consensus of the local people, so land clearance was carried out quickly and efficiently; to date, households have received compensation and handed over the land for the construction unit to level the ground. Ms. Long Nhu Tuoi, from Pha Long 1 village, Pha Long commune, shared: "After the project is completed, our children will no longer have to travel far to school, so we are very happy and wholeheartedly support the project's implementation."
The Pha Long Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project was approved by the People's Committee of Lao Cai Province in Decision No. 1574/QD-UBND dated October 27, 2025, with the goal of building a modern educational facility to meet the increasing learning needs of students in Pha Long commune and neighboring communes. The project has a total investment of 220 billion VND, funded by the central government budget, the provincial budget, and other legal sources, and is expected to be implemented in the 2025-2026 period.

Accordingly, the project includes an administrative building, classroom blocks, subject-specific classrooms, a boarding house, a multi-purpose building, auxiliary facilities, and a comprehensive technical infrastructure system. Upon completion, the school will meet Level 2 infrastructure standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training , with 28 classrooms serving 980 students. This will be one of the most modern boarding schools in the region, providing excellent learning and training opportunities for students in the highlands.
Mobilize maximum manpower and take advantage of favorable weather conditions.
After the project was approved, the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board signed a contract with the construction unit on November 1, 2025, with an expected construction time of 285 days and the goal of completing the entire project by August 30, 2026. To ensure this challenging schedule, the local authorities have paid special attention to land clearance. Mr. Hoang Van Quang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Pha Long commune, said: By the beginning of December 2025, land clearance work had been basically completed to create favorable conditions for the construction unit to level the ground as soon as possible.
Immediately after receiving the cleared site, the contractor brought excavators, bulldozers, large trucks, and specialized equipment to the site and deployed two shifts continuously throughout the day to level the ground. On the large plot of land next to the commune center, the sound of machinery echoed from morning to evening. The construction unit is focusing on the first important item: leveling the ground, treating the soil, ensuring the correct compaction and slope, and preparing for the construction of the building foundations.
Representatives from the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board stated that land leveling plays a crucial role in the progress and quality of the entire project. The Board also requested the contractor to mobilize maximum equipment, take advantage of favorable weather conditions, and work continuously to complete the land leveling work as soon as possible.

Towards the end of the year, Pha Long often experiences thick fog and severe cold weather, significantly hindering construction. However, on the construction site, technical staff and workers are still working in shifts, taking advantage of sunny days to accelerate excavation and embankment work. The contractor is also proactively expanding the construction area and arranging transportation routes efficiently to ensure absolute safety in the mountainous terrain.
Mr. Tran An Ninh, the construction site manager of the Pha Long border school, said that the construction unit is dividing into two teams working continuously on the site preparation, striving to complete the site preparation and simultaneously construct the building blocks.
The Pha Long Primary and Secondary Boarding School project is not just a simple educational facility, but also carries profound humanitarian significance. Once operational, the school will provide hundreds of students in the mountainous region with a favorable learning environment, reducing the hardship of commuting in harsh weather conditions. At the same time, it will contribute to changing the face of the Pha Long commune center, creating momentum for socio -economic development in the border area.

With a high sense of responsibility and the involvement of relevant units, site preparation and construction are progressing rapidly. It is believed that in the near future, the project site will be completed, creating the foundation for building a spacious and modern school that meets the expectations of the local people.
