Temporarily suspend teacher who sent intimate messages to 10th grade female student

Rach Kien High School (Rach Kien Commune, Tay Ninh) has decided to suspend teaching and is conducting disciplinary proceedings against a teacher who sent intimate messages to a 10th grade female student.

The Department of Education and Training of Tay Ninh province informed that Rach Kien High School (Rach Kien commune) has suspended teaching and is taking disciplinary action against the teacher involved in the incident of sending intimate messages to a female 10th grade student of the school.

As reported by the Vietnam Women's Newspaper, according to a report by Ms. Ha Thi Minh Hien, Principal of Rach Kien High School on October 20, Ms. Vo Thi Kim Chi, Vice Principal of the school, received a text message from a teacher of the school about a student of NTTL, grade 10, being sent intimate messages by Mr. NVT, a teacher of National Defense Education.

On October 21, Ms. Vo Thi Kim Chi invited NTTL to her room to get information about the incident. NTTL stated that Mr. NVT had sent intimate messages to her and had touched her body. Her wish was for the incident to stop so she could study in peace.

Vice Principal Vo Thi Kim Chi encouraged her and asked her to write a report and present her wishes. The Board of Directors then worked with Mr. NVT, requesting an end to the incident and not letting it happen again.

The school collected more information from the homeroom teacher and the School Counseling Board. On October 22, the Board of Directors invited Mr. NVT to discuss the incident with student NTTL.

After listening to the student's report, Mr. NVT admitted to exchanging intimate messages, but affirmed that he did not physically touch the student.

Mr. NVT admitted his mistake in sending intimate messages to his student. The Board of Directors asked Mr. NVT to write a report and a self-criticism, and to end the relationship, so that the incident would not happen again. The School Counseling Board discussed with student NTTL, and he agreed with the Board of Directors' solution.

At 2:25 p.m. on October 27, two women (including NTTL's biological mother) came to the school and asked the security guard to let them in, claiming to discuss the student's studies. However, the two then went straight to the equipment room, rushed in, and used their hands and objects to hit and throw at Mr. NVT.

As soon as the incident occurred, the school reported it to Rach Kien Commune Police to handle the situation. The Commune Police were present and worked with the Board of Directors and the two women who disturbed the school's security and order.

"The school has reported the incident to the Department of Education and Training. At the same time, the school is coordinating with the authorities to investigate and clarify the violations in the incident," Ms. Ha Thi Minh Hien informed.

Regarding the health and spirit of female student NTTL, Ms. Ha Thi Minh Hien said: "Student L.'s health and spirit are stable. However, after the incident, the family asked for L. to take a few days off from school. The female student returned to school on November 3."
