Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to Vietnam, Mr. Marcos Antonio Bednarski shared: Students are the future of each country and of the world . Your participation in this event is a testament to the important role of the young generation in building strong international relations.

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina, concurrently accredited to Uruguay, Ngo Minh Nguyet, stated: There is enormous potential for cooperation between ASEAN and Mercosur – two regions rich in natural resources, with a young workforce and rapidly developing technology. With a population of over 650 million and a total GDP of nearly 3 trillion USD, Southeast Asia is a significant potential for integration and cooperation with the Mercosur common market, which has a population of approximately 300 million and a GDP of around 2.5 trillion USD.

Strengthening economic relations will benefit both sides, not only boosting trade and investment but also opening up opportunities for technological cooperation, knowledge exchange, and cultural understanding. Sharing the reason for choosing the Foreign Trade University as the venue for the event, Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet said that it is not only a leading university in the fields of economics and business but also has experience in organizing large international events and projects such as the WTO Chair Program in Vietnam.

Within the framework of the program, lecturers, staff, and students had the opportunity to interact and ask questions with leaders of the Embassy as well as representatives of the ASEAN-MERCOSUR Chair to learn more about the program and share their expectations for the program's activities in the future.

The ASEAN-MERCOSUR Chair Programme was established in 2016 to promote dialogue and cooperation between ASEAN and MERCOSUR, especially in the economic and educational fields. The programme facilitates bilateral trade activities, supports technology exchanges in agriculture and industry, and develops joint research projects in science and technology. In addition, educational cooperation and academic exchanges between ASEAN and MERCOSUR will contribute to improving the quality of human resources and expanding international cooperation opportunities.

The ASEAN-MERCOSUR Chair is established as a center for research and collaboration, with a focus on sustainable development, innovation, and education. This initiative not only opens opportunities for students, academics, and businesses from both regions but also creates lasting value, contributing to global prosperity and sustainable development.
